ST. PAUL, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict outdoor track and field team captured six titles, including two by
Kate Gallagher, along with 25 top-eight finishes and three-top 10 program marks at the Janis Rider/Doug Bolstorff Invitational, hosted by Macalester, on Saturday, April 27.
CSB picked up a pair of relay titles on the day, with the 4x100-meter relay team claiming a second title of the spring with a clocking of 49.15. The relay squad included first-year
Grace Buntrock, senior
Tiana Johnson, sophomore
Myah Nelson and senior
Kate Gallagher. In the 4x400-meter relay, the team of senior
Sidela Nyuga, junior
Kalli Smith, junior
Emerson Knapp, and sophomore
Lauren Berg claimed the win with a time of 4:05.10.
Gallagher also had a title in the 100-meters with a clocking of 12.65. Johnson was second at 12.69 as the Bennies finished 1-2. In addition, Johnson took second place in the 200-meters with a 26.12 clocking.
In the 400-meters, senior
Sidela Nyuga won a title with a personal-best and the fifth-best outdoor clocking in school history of 58.84.
Ella Young finished sixth in the same race in 1:01.25.
Junior
Kalli Smith captured the title in the 800-meters, clocking 2:18.53, an outdoor personal-best and number eight on the CSB all-time outdoor top-10. She was one of three Bennies in the top-eight as first-year
Anabella Witschen was sixth in 2:25.92 while junior
Emerson Knapp was seventh as she clocked 2:26.72.
Senior
Ellie Selisker captured the triple jump title at 10.72 m – 35-02.0 and placed second in the long jump at 5.25m – 17-02.75.
Senior
Bridget Tetmeyer won the 3,000-meter steeplechase title with a personal-best of 11:39.16.
In the 400-meter hurdles, sophomore
Lauren Berg placed fourth in 1:07.69.
First-year
Taylor Radaich had a personal-best in the 1,500-meters and finished fifth in 4:55.12. She led three Bennies in the top-eight with senior
Lucy Lyngen, 7
th, in 5:03.10; and senior
Keiley Maahs, 8th, with a time of 5:03.75.
In the hammer throw, senior
Haley Joos was 10
th with a personal-best of 42.63m – 139-10, which is the seventh best throw outdoors all-time at CSB. She also placed fifth in the shot put at 11.49m – 37-08.50.
In the high jump, first-year
Samantha Brown led two CSB jumpers in the top-five. Brown had a personal-best of 1.45m – 4-09.00 while first-year
Drea Terwedo was fifth 1.35m – 4-05.00.
Junior
Justus Floren was fifth in the javelin throw at 31.85m – 104-06. Floren was also seventh in 4.88m – 16-00.25 in the long jump with first-year
Sabriya Farquharson placing sixth in 4.94m – 16-02.50. CSB senior
Danielle Anderson was sixth in 9.48m-31-01.25 in the triple jump.
Also for the Bennies, sophomore
Jaylyn Ahlberg was fourth in the pole-vault with a vault of 3.35m – 10.11.75 while first-year
Ming Li Raidt placed fifth in 3.05m - 10-00.00.
