ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – After a series of outstanding performances to open the indoor season, the College of Saint Benedict indoor track and field team will travel to compete at the Tostrud Classic in Northfield, Minn., on Friday (Feb. 21).

Field events are set to start at 4:30 p.m., with track events scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m., at the Tostrud Center in Northfield. St. Olaf College will be the host school for the final indoor meet prior to the MIAC Championships next weeked (Feb. 27-March 1) in Collegeville, Minn.

Bennies win five titles and have 14 top-4 finishes at CSB/SJU Invite
The College of Saint Benedict indoor track and field team continued to perform at a high level after winning another five titles, recording three top-10 program marks and recording 14 top-four finishes at the CSB/SJU Invitational at the Donald McNeely Spectrum on Feb. 15 in Collegeville.In the invitational, CSB competed against 10 other teams and shined in field and running events. Leading the way was sophomore Sabriya Farquharson, who won two field event titles, including setting a meet record in the long jump and capturing the triple jump with the fourth-best performance in school history. Junior Jaylyn Ahlberg captured another pole vault title, which was her third of the year and 11^th of her career at CSB as she recorded a vault of 3.37M – 11-00.75. Farquharson, who now has six individual field event titles this year. set a meet record in winning the long jump at 5.53M – 18-01.75, which ranks 32^nd in DIII. While the mark is just off her career best of 5.53M, it would rank fifth all-time in school history. She also captured the triple jump in a personal best of 11.14M – 36-06.75, a mark that ranks 54^th in NCAA DIII. Farquharson's performance ranks fourth all-time as she surpassed her mark of 11.11M a year ago.   Lucy Lyngen led three placers in the top-eight of the mile run by winning the title in 5:29.27 with sophomore Julia Babineau in fourth in 5:41.33 and Meaghan McDonald, eighth, with a PR of 5:51.91. For a second straight competition, the 4x400-meter relay of Emerson Knapp, Ava Revoir, Kalli Smith and Lauren Berg won the 4x400-meter relay by clocking 4:08.87. Individually, Revoir continues to shine in the 400-meters, clocking a personal-best and the eight-best best clocking indoors in CSB school history by running 59.92 and placing fourth.  In the 800-meters sophomore Taylor Radaich had a personal-best in finishing second in 2:22.87 while three others placed in the top-seven, including junior Lauren Berg, third, 2:23.58 (just off her PR of 2:23.02); senior Kalli Smith, fourth, 2:25.19; and junior Brooke Verkinnes, seventh, 2:29.62.

CSB win three times and finishes 1st of 8 teams at Meet of the Hearts
Led by three titles, including individual crowns from Sabriya Farquharson and Samantha Brown and a 4x400-meter relay title, the College of Saint Benedict track and field team placed first of eight teams with 178.70 points at the Kelly Family Meet of the Hearts. CSB also had nine top three finishes in another standout performance. Sophomore Sabriya Farquharson captured the triple jump with a season-best 10.76M – 35-03.75. First year Maggie McCabe was fourth at 9.85M – 32-00.00. The Bennies also captured a title in the high jump as sophomore Samantha Brown had a jump of 1.48M – 4-10.25. Sophomore Anna Kemp was second in 1.43M – 4-08.25. CSB finished with three of the four spots in the 400-meter dash as first-year Ava Revoir finished second in a personal best of 1:00.34, which ranks eighth all-time at CSB while Lauren Berg was third in 1:01.01 with Emerson Knapp, fourth in 1:02.06. Revoir, Knapp, Berg and Kalli Smith surpassed a season best in winning the 4x400-meter relay, clocking 4:07.20. St. Ben's had six of the top eight spots in the 800-meter run, led by senior Kalli Smith in 2:26.13 in second and sophomore Anabella Witschen in third at 2:26.62. The Bennes also had a second-place finish from first year Allison Banse in the shot put with a PR of 11.22M – 3609.75. Sophomore Anya Adelgren was second in the 55-meter hurdles in 9.11 while Chloe Ostrem took seventh in a PR of 9.65. St. Benedict had another second-place finish in the pole vault as junior Jaylyn Ahlberg had a vault of 3.37M – 11-00.75. In total, CSB had three vaulters in top sixth with first-year McKenna Flinn, fourth, 2.82M – 9-03 and sophomore Lili Raidt, sixth, tying for sixth at 2.82M – 9-03.  In the 55-meter dash, senior Justus Floren was third with a personal-best 7.57 with sophomore Grace Buntrock, fifth, 7.68.

CSB wins seven titles at the CSB/SJU Quad
Junior Jaylyn Ahlberg captured her second straight pole vault title and was among the seven individual/relay winning performances by the College of Saint Benedict track and field team at the CSB/SJU Quad on Jan. 31, which included the Bennies, St. Cloud State, St. Olaf and Bemidji State.  For the second straight week, Ahlberg captured the pole vault by going 3.38M – 11-01.00, which bettered her mark of a week ago by nearly half a foot (10-06). The mark ranks 54^th in NCAA DIII. Also in the vault, first-year McKenna Flinn was third at 2.93M – 9-07.25 and sophomore Lili Raidt was fourth at 2.78M – 9-01.50.  Senior Justus Floren won the 60-meter hurdles in 9.75 and also finished fourth in the 60-meters by clocking 8.17, a mark that just finished out of the program's top 10. In the 60-meter hurdles, CSB captured five of the top eight spots with Anya Adelgren, second in 10.01 and both Chloe Ostrem, fourth in a PR of 10.16 and Maisy Komatsu, sixth in a PR of 10.43. Junior Lauren Berg captured the 600-meters in 1:38.65, which was short of her carer best of 1:36.28 in 2023. First-year Ava Revoir in second at 1:38.67, a mark that was a PR and ranks fifth in school history. and senior Emerson Knapp, third in 1:43.00. In the race, CSB captured six of the top eight spots. Junior Brooke Verkinnes led five runners in the top six of the 800-meters by clocking a winning time of 2:28.46.  Junior Natalie Zielsdorf was second in 2:30.61 while first-year Karcyn Dose was third with a PR of 2:36.06. In the mile run senior Lucy Lyngen won the title in 5:25.47 and led six CSB runners in the top eight of the event. First-year Eileen O'Connor was fourth in 5:30.13. First-year Maggie McCabe captured the triple jump with a PR of 10.35M – 33-11.50. The Bennies raced five 4x400-meter relays including the top team at 4:13.20 which consisted of Berg, Knapp, K. Smith and Revoir. The third place team of Lyngen, Radaich, Dose and Mariah Brooks clocked 4:28.04. In the long jump sophomore Sabriya Farquharson was third by going 4.98M – 16-04.25. In the 1,000-meter run, sophomore Taylor Radaich had a clocking of 3:08.33 for second with senior Kalli Smith, third in 3:08.89.

CSB led by Ahlberg, Floren, Revoir and Farqharson at CSB/SJU Alum Meet
 Jaylyn Ahlberg, Justus Floren, Ava Revoir, and Sabriya Farquharson led a standout opening meet performance for the College of Saint Benedict indoor track and field team, which finished first (179 points) among four teams at the CSB/SJU Alum Meet on Jan. 25 at the Donald McNeely Spectrum. In total, CSB claimed six individual titles and had a pair of top 10 program marks. St. Ben's grabbed the top three spots in the 400-meter dash as first-year Ava Revoir won the event in 1:00.36, a mark that ranks eighth all-time at CSB. Junior Lauren Berg was second in 1:01.25 with senior Emerson Knapp at 1:02.86. In the pole vault, two-time MIAC champion and junior standout Jaylyn Ahlberg won the pole vault at 3.20M – 10-06.00. First-year McKenna Flinn was second at 2.60M – 8-06.25. Sophomore Sabriya Farquharson set a meet mark in the long jump and also won the triple jump. She captured the long jump title in 5.31M – 17-05.25, which was just short of her personal-best of 5.53M a year ago that is fourth all-time. And she also won the triple jump in 10.75M – 35-03.25. Also, in the triple jump first-year Anna Gries was second in 10.24M – 33-06.75 with first-year Maggie McCabe, third, in 9.80M – 32-02.00. Senior Justus Floren had a standout day as she won the 60-meter hurdles in 9.84 while sophomore Anya Adelgren, second in 9.94 and first-year Maisy Komastu, fourth in 10.55 as CSB had four of the top five finishers. Floren also placed second in the shot put at 35-03.75 while first-year Allison Banse, third in 35-02.50.  In the short sprints, sophomore Grace Buntrock led the way as she was second in the 60-meter dash in 8.27 followed by first-year Anna Gries in third at 8.38 and junior Myah Nelson, fifth, 8.82.  Buntrock was also third in the 200-meter dash in 28.48 with senior Catherine Ganley, fourth at 29.63. Senior Kalli Smith led three runners in the top five of the 800 meters as she clocked 2:27.80. Sophomore Anabella Witschen was fourth in 2:37.07 with first-year Karcyn Dose, fifth, 2:37.93. In the mile run, sophomore Taylor Radaich was second in 5:33.78.Senior Lucy Lyngen was part of a contingent from CSB that had seven of the top eight places in the 3,000-meters. Lyngen clocked 10:58.69 for second with junior Mary Kenney, third in 11:00.58.
