Brooke Verkinnes-Season-Career Results 

2024: INDOOR: Competed in five meets, recording five top-eight finishes … competed in the MIAC Indoor Championships in the 800 (2:34.21) and the 1000 (3:20.30) ... took 3rd place in the 800 with a time of 2:37.21 at the CSB/SJU Alumni Meet … set a career-best in the mile at the Gopher Classic with a time of 5:39.89 … won the 800 in 2:30.46 at the CSB/SJU Invitational … took 8th place in the 1000 at the St. Olaf Tostrud Classic with a time of 3:21.39. 

2023: OUTDOOR: Competed in seven meets, recording four top-8 finishes … competed in the MIAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships as a part of the 4x800 team (9:43.64) securing 4th place ... set a career-best in the 800-meter at the St. Thomas Tomcat Invitational with a time of 2:27.41 … took 6th place and set a career-best in the 1500-meter with a time of 5:13.03 at the Norse Invite … INDOOR: Competed in six meets, recording five top-8 performances … competed in the MIAC Indoor Multi Championships, setting a career-best in the 1000-meter with a time of 3:18.00 ... took 3rd place in the 800-meter with a time of 2:34.72 at the CSB/SJU Alumni Meet … set a career-best in the mile with a time of 6:02.49 at the Gopher Classic … won the 800-meter in 2:33.81 at the CSB/SJU Invitational. 

High School: A 2022 graduate from Apollo High School in Minnesota, Verkinnes ran track for six seasons and cross country for seven seasons. Her accomplishments and awards include, earning All-State Academic awards (2021,2022), receiving All State Conference two times, qualifying for State in the 800m twice, breaking the 4x8 school record twice, and breaking the 5k school record. Verkinnes was also a part of the club rock climbing group. The proudest moment of her career so far was breaking the 5k record at her high school.
 
Personal: The daughter of Lisa and Mike Verkinnes, Brooke has two siblings: Jake, and Cory. In her free time, she likes doing art, biking, and long boarding. Brooke majors in Global Business Leadership. She likes being a collegiate athlete because she enjoys having a team where all the girls love what they are training for, and she enjoys having more freedom in her mileage.
