ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict track and field team continues its outdoor season by hosting the CSB/SJU Invitational on Thursday (April 16) at 4 p.m. at Clemens Stadium. Originally scheduled for Saturday, the meet was moved to Thursday due to the forecast of inclement weather.
Results will be available at gobennies.com following the conclusion of competition, the last home meet of the season for the Bennies.
After Thursday's meet, the Bennies will travel to the Rider/Bolstorff Invitational, hosted by Macalester at Macalester Stadium on April 25.

Bennies Shine at CSB/SJU Optimistic Invitational
Saint Benedict opened the outdoor season in strong fashion, capturing two relay titles — including a meet record — and posting 18 top-five finishes despite cold and windy conditions at Clemens Stadium. The 4x400-meter relay team of
Taylor Dean (Hutchinson, Minn.),
Lauren Berg (Bemidji, Minn.),
Anna Schottler (Chanhassen, Minn.) and
Macy Piechowski (Winona, Minn.) set a meet record with a winning time of 4:06.31. Another CSB quartet of
Taylor Radaich (Prior Lake, Minn.),
Anabella Witschen (Monticello, Minn.),
Tiffany Dean (Hutchinson, Minn.) and
Brooke Verkinnes (St. Cloud, Minn.) added a fifth-place finish (4:18.07). The Bennies also claimed the 4x100-meter relay title as
Grace Buntrock (Rochester, Minn.),
Anna Gries (Minneapolis, Minn.),
Myah Nelson (Brainerd, Minn.) and
Bella Lund (Mound, Minn.) won in 50.69. Lund added a second-place finish in the 100 meters (12.58) and a fourth-place showing in the 200 meters (26.77), just ahead of
Allee Feldman (Buffalo, Minn.), who was fifth (26.92). Schottler impressed in her collegiate debut, finishing second in the 400 meters (59.44). In the field events,
Allison Banse (Mankato, Minn.) took second in the shot put (11.98m / 39-3.75), while
Sabriya Farquharson (Nassau, Bahamas) placed second in the long jump (5.45m / 17-10.75).
Juslene Chea (St. Michael, Minn.) led CSB in the 100-meter hurdles with a fifth-place finish (16.49). The Bennies dominated the 3,000-meter steeplechase, sweeping the top six spots, led by
Daphne Grobstein (Golden Valley, Minn.) in third (11:56.59) and
Lauren Masica (Orono, Minn.) in fourth (13:25.29).
Bennies Win Four Titles at Hamline
Saint Benedict followed with another strong performance at the Hamline Invitational, earning four event titles and 17 top-five finishes against primarily Division III competition.
Jaylyn Ahlberg (Shoreview, Minn.) won the pole vault with a season-best 3.35m (10-11.75), while
Lili Raidt (Waconia, Minn.) matched the height to place second and
McKenna Flinn (Redwood Valley, Minn.) took fourth (3.20m / 10-6). Farquharson captured the triple jump title (11.01m / 36-1.50), with Gries finishing second (10.44m / 34-3) and
Hannah Scharnberg (Fergus Falls, Minn.) fourth (10.09m / 33-1.25). Farquharson also placed seventh in the long jump (4.90m / 16-1).
Mary Kenney (St. Paul, Minn.) led a dominant effort in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, winning in a season-best 11:23.42 as CSB claimed six of the top seven spots. Witschen placed third (11:44.90), followed by
Julia Babineau (Andover, Minn.) in fourth (12:10.42) and
Bailey Link (Brush, Colo.) in fifth (13:15.85).
Kiera Stommes (Eden Valley, Minn.) secured the high jump title (1.53m / 5-0.25), with
Drea Terwedo (LeSueur, Minn.) third (1.50m / 4-11). In the javelin,
Parker Pollis (Richfield, Minn.) led the Bennies with a second-place finish, while
Emily Koch (Otsego, Minn.) was third (29.06m / 95-4). Banse added fifth-place finishes in both the discus (35.24m / 115-7) and shot put (12.06m / 39-6.75), and
Quinn Paulsen (Waconia, Minn.) posted a career-best in the shot put (10.92m / 35-10). The 4x100 relay team of Buntrock, Gries, Nelson and Lund placed second (50.03). Berg took fourth in the 400-meter hurdles (1:05.04), and Dean added a fourth-place finish in the 800 meters (2:24.00).
Ahlberg, Berg Lead at Gene Glader Classic
The Bennies continued their momentum at the Gene Glader Invitational, recording 12 top-six finishes and 16 top-eight placings.
Lauren Berg (Bemidji, Minn.) posted a season-best 1:03.37 in the 400-meter hurdles, ranking No. 19 in Division III, while Chea set a personal-best 15.46 in the 100-meter hurdles to place fifth. Kenney placed fourth in the steeplechase (11:20.41), a mark ranked 29th in Division III, while Grobstein added a personal-best 11:37.88 (68th nationally). Schottler (59.40) and Dean (1:00.84) both recorded personal bests in the 400 meters. In the field events, Banse threw a season-best 36.37m (119-4) in the discus to place seventh and added an eighth-place finish in the shot put. The Bennies placed three in the top six in the high jump, led by Stommes (1.53m) in second, while
Ariana Maurer (St. Louis, Mo.) and Terwedo also cleared the same height. Pollis placed fifth in the javelin (32.57m / 106-10). Ahlberg finished second in the pole vault (3.51m / 11-6.25), with Raidt adding an eighth-place finish. Farquharson led CSB in the triple jump (10.63m / 34-10.50), with Scharnberg finishing eighth. The 4x100 relay team placed fourth with a time of 49.73.
Indoor Season Recap
The outdoor season follows a fifth-place finish (76.5 points) at the MIAC Indoor Championships, where the Bennies earned six All-MIAC performances. Ahlberg won the conference title in the pole vault (3.53m), while Raidt tied for second. Chea placed second in the 55-meter hurdles, Banse took third in the shot put, and Farquharson recorded top-three finishes in both horizontal jumps. Additional honorable mention All-MIAC honors went to Berg (600 and 800 meters), Stommes (high jump), Flinn (pole vault) and Chea (triple jump), highlighting a balanced indoor campaign as Saint Benedict transitions into the outdoor season.
