NEW ORLEANS – The College of Saint Benedict track and field team was well represented on the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), as CSB brought home six All-Academic accolades, announced by the organization Monday, July 20. Five Bennies were named All-Academic as individuals while the team was credited with All-Academic Team status after a stellar year in the classroom. 

 

Seniors Jaylyn Ahlberg (Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View), Lauren Berg (Bemidji, Minn./Bemidji), and Mary Kenney (Saint Paul, Minn./East Ridge), junior Sabriya Farquharson (Nassau, Bahamas/Saint Augustine's College), and first-year Juslene Chea (St. Michael, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville) hauled in All-Academic honors for CSB. Berg earns her fourth consecutive academic honor from the organization, while Ahlberg collects the second of her career. Kenney, who has received the award twice as a member of the cross country team, earns it for the first time in track and field. Farquharson and Chea each reeled in the honor for the first time in their careers.  

 

Saint Benedict earns the team honor for the 20th consecutive season and 24th time in program history after boasting a 3.69 GPA.  

 

To qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic Individual honors, student-athletes must compile a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.30 and either qualify for the NCAA Indoor Championships or Outdoor Championships or finish the season ranked among the nation's top 50 in an individual event or top 35 in a relay event. 

 

An exercise and health science major, Ahlberg, who previously earned the honor following the 2023-24 season, ranked 43rd nationally in pole vault during the outdoor season after clearing 3.65m (11'11.75") at the St. Olaf Ole Open. The 2025-26 season saw Ahlberg take home gold in pole vault in six meets, including earning medalist honors at the 2026 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Indoor Championship. She added All-MIAC honors at the outdoor conference meet after a third-place finish. 

 

Berg, a biology and pre-medicine major, concludes a decorated career at CSB with her fourth consecutive All-Academic honor from the USTFCCCA. After finishing 15th in the 400-meter hurdles at the NCAA Division III Outdoor National Championship, Berg was named a USTFCCCA Second Team All-American. The school record holder in the event with a time of 1:01.49, Berg entered the national meet ranked 19th in Division III. The Bemidji, Minn. native earned All-MIAC honors at the outdoor conference championship after a runner-up performance in the 400m hurdles and was All-MIAC honorable mention in the 4-by-400-meter relay after helping CSB finish fourth. At the MIAC Indoor Championship, Berg was an honorable mention all-conference in the 600-meter following a fourth-place finish, 800-meter after finishing fifth, and as part of the fifth-place 4x400m relay. The senior earned USTFCCCA All-Region honors in the 400m hurdles.  

 

Majoring in nursing, Kenney collects her first All-Academic honor on the track and field side after previously earning it in 2024 and 2025 for cross country. The senior earned USTFCCCA All-Region honors in the 3000-meter steeplechase after winning the MIAC title in record-breaking fashion. Her time of 10:56.27 shattered the school and facility record and was the 34th-fastest time nationally. Finishing fifth in the 5000-meter event at the outdoor conference championship, Kenney added honorable mention All-MIAC in the event to her long list of accolades.  

 

Farquharson, a chemistry major, received her first academic honor from the USTFCCCA after ranking 50th nationally in the indoor triple jump behind a mark of 11.30m (37'1") at the CSB/SJU Valentine's Day Open. She earned All-MIAC honors at the indoor conference championship in the triple jump and long jump after finishing second and third, respectively. Farquharson finished fourth at the MIAC Outdoor Championship in the triple jump to be named All-MIAC honorable mention. 

 

After a stellar campaign in her first year at CSB, Chea rounds out the Bennies on the list after reeling in her first honor. The first-year nursing major posted the 49th-fastest time nationally in the 60-meter hurdles after recording a time of 8.97. She collected All-MIAC honors in the 55-meter hurdles at the MIAC Indoor Championship behind a second-place finish. Chea was All-MIAC honorable mention in the triple jump after a sixth-place finish at the indoor meet. She rounded out her first year by earning all-conference honorable mention in the 100-meter hurdles, as she finished fourth at the MIAC Outdoor Championship.  

 

In all, 906 women were named All-Academic at the Division III level while 213 women's teams earned the distinction. Saint Benedict was one of 10 MIAC institutions. Bethel University, Carleton College, Concordia College, Gustavus Adolphus College, Macalester College, Saint Mary's University, St. Catherine University, St. Olaf College, and The College of St. Scholastica joined CSB on the list. In total, 58 MIAC student-athletes earned the individual honor, as Bethel, Carleton, Concordia Moorehead, Gustavus Adolphus, Macalester, Saint Mary's, St. Olaf, and St. Scholastica were all represented alongside CSB. St. Olaf led the league with 13 awardees.
