CSB Track and Field shines at the Bethel Invitational on Saturday

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- With a title, seven top five finishes, and 24 personal-best marks, the College of Saint Benedict track and field team continued its impressive outdoor season at the Bethel Invite on Saturday, April 12. In addition, CSB had five marks that ranked in the program's top 10 all-time.

CSB's only title was by junior Jaylyn Ahlberg, who won the pole vault at 3.60 meters – 11-09.75, which ranks 24th in DII and is her season best.

Senior Justus Floren had a career-best and the second-best javelin throw in school history by throwing 38.40 meters – 126-00 feet and placing second.

In the 400-meter hurdles, Lauren Berg had a personal-best and a clocking of 1:03.25 that ranks second all-time in school history as she placed third in the race. It ranks No. 15 in NCAA DIII. Also in that race, Chloe Ostrem had a personal-best of 1:07.25 and placed 10th. Berg also ran as part of the 4x400-meter relay that placed fourth in a season-best 4:04.40. The relay also included Ava Revoir, Kalli Smith and Emerson Knapp

First-year Ava Revoir placed fifth in the 400-meters with a personal best and moved to fifth all-time in the 400-meters with a clocking of 58.69.

In the 4x100-meter relay, a team of Grace Buntrock, Anna Gries, Allee Feldman and Myah Nelson had a season-best 50.12 to place fifth.

First-year Allison Banse had a PR in both the shot put and discus throw. With a throw of 11.98 meters – 39-03.75 in which she placed fifth in the shot put and a mark that ranks sixth all-time in program history. She was also ninth in the discus at 37.75 meters – 123-10, which ranks eighth all-time at CSB.

Additional Noteworthy Performances:
  • Molly McCabe (first-year) placed 6th in the triple jump with 10.40 meters (34-01.50).
  • Mary Kenney ran a personal-best 4:57.22 in the 1,500 meters, placing 15th.
  • In the hammer throw, sophomore Christian Smith was 11th with a personal-best 41.94 meters - 137-07.
  • In the 100-meter hurdles, Chloe Ostrem recorded another personal best of 15.94.
  • Kalli Smith ran a season-best 2:21.57 in the 800 meters, finishing 18th.
  • Anna Gries, a first-year, ran a personal-best 26.46 in the 200 meters.
  • Kiera Stommes cleared 1.50 meters (4-11.0) in the high jump, earning sixth place.
Next up for the CSB track and field team will be the CSB/SJU Invitational on April 17-18.
