ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict track and field team aims to continue its strong outdoor season at the Bethel Invitational on Saturday, April 12. The event is set to begin at 9 a.m.

Following the Bethel Invitational, St. Ben's will compete at the CSB/SJU Invitational on April 17-18, the Rider/Bolstorff Invitational at Macalester on April 26, and the Hamline Meet of the Unsaintly on April 30. The MIAC Championships will kick off with the hentathlon at Carleton College in Northfield on May 1, followed by the rest of the conference championships at Macalester College in St. Paul on May 9-10.

CSB wins two titles with 19 top-six finishes at Hamline
The College of Saint Benedict track and field team had another strong showing at the Hamline Invitational on April 5, highlighted by a win in the high jump from first-year Kiera Stommes and a season-best performance from the 4x100-meter relay team. In total, CSB secured 19 top-six finishes during the outdoor meet. The 4x100-meter relay team, made up of sophomore Grace Buntrock, first-year Anna Gries, first-year Allee Feldman, and senior Justus Floren, ran a season-best time of 50.54 seconds, taking first place. Stommes earned her first career title in the high jump, clearing 1.53 meters (5-00.25), which marked a personal best and the best jump by a Bennies athlete this outdoor season.  In the throws, first-year Allison Banse and sophomore Christian Smith posted solid results. Banse set a career-best in the shot put with a throw of 11.61 meters (38-01.25), placing second and marking the eighth-best throw in program history. Smith followed closely with a personal-best 11.05 meters (36-03.00), earning third place. In the discus, Smith finished second with a throw of 36.61 meters (120-01), while Banse took sixth at 34.51 meters (113-02). In the javelin, senior Catherine Ganley placed fourth with a throw of 31.36 meters (102-10), and Banse was eighth at 26.12 meters (85-08). Sophomore Sabriya Farquharson continued her excellent work in the long jump, finishing third with a leap of 5.01 meters (16-05.25). In pole vault, CSB earned second and fourth place, with sophomore Lili Raidt clearing 3.05 meters (10-00) for second and junior Jaylyn Ahlberg matching that height for fourth.First-year Ava Revoir also impressed, clocking a personal-best 59.65 in the 400-meter dash, ranking in the top 10 in program history. In the 100-meter hurdles, Anya Adelgren placed sixth with a time of 16.32 seconds, and Gries finished seventh in the event.

Berg, Farquharson, McCabe Lead CSB at CSB/SJU Optimistic Meet
Lauren Berg claimed two titles, while Sabriya Farquharson and Maggie McCabe each earned individual championships as the College of Saint Benedict track and field team continued its impressive 2025 season at the CSB/SJU Optimistic Meet on Friday at Clemens Stadium. CSB secured 15 top-three finishes, including four event titles, during their home opener for the outdoor season. Junior Lauren Berg won the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:04.57, which, though just shy of her career best (1:03.38), ranks 10th in Division III. She also helped the 4x400-meter relay team to first place, finishing in 4:10.88 – which ranks 27th nationally this season. Joining her on the relay team were first-year Ava Revoir, sophomore Taylor Radaich, and senior Kalli Smith.
Sophomore Sabriya Farquharson earned the long jump title with a leap of 5.28 meters (17-04.00), ranking 20th in Division III. In the triple jump, first-year Maggie McCabe led a 1-2-3 finish for the Bennies, claiming the title with a jump of 10.35 meters (33-11.50), followed by first-year Anna Gries (10.08 meters / 33-01.00) and sophomore Samantha Solheid (9.92 meters / 32-06.50). In the 3,000-meter steeplechase, junior Mary Kenney set a personal best of 11:45.98, finishing second. First-year Ava Revoir also set an outdoor PR of 1:01.06 to place second in the 400 meters. First-year Erin O'Connor set a personal best in the same event, finishing sixth with a time of 1:04.85. Sophomore Taylor Radaich earned second place in the 800-meter with a season-best time of 2:20.82. The Bennies also placed second in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 50.89, featuring sophomore Grace Buntrock, first-year Anna Gries, junior Myah Nelson, and first-year Allee Feldman. Junior Jaylyn Ahlberg placed third in the pole vault with a height of 3.42 meters (11-02.50), while sophomore Lili Raidt finished fifth at 3.27 meters (10-08.75).

Lyngen and Berg Win Titles at D3 Challenge
The Bennies showcased their strength at the D3 Challenge, hosted by Texas Lutheran University on March 21-22 at Bulldog Stadium in Seguin, Texas, following a strong indoor season. Senior Lucy Lyngen and junior Lauren Berg each captured individual titles, leading the team in their season opener. The Bennies recorded three top-10 program marks during the competition. Lyngen won the 1,500-meter run with a time of 5:00.31, while Berg claimed the 400-meter hurdles title in 1:05.30. Senior Justus Floren had an impressive showing, placing sixth in the high jump (1.45 meters / 4-09), setting a personal best with a third-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles (15.17), and finishing fourth in the long jump. CSB dominated the pole vault, with junior Jaylyn Ahlberg placing second (3.42 meters / 11-02.75) and sophomore Lili Raidt taking third (3.27 meters / 10-08.75).In the long jump, four Bennies finished in the top eight, led by Farquharson, who set a career-best jump of 5.58 meters (18-03.75), ranking second on the all-time list at CSB. Farquharson also placed third in the triple jump with a leap of 10.91 meters (35-10.25), while teammates Anna Gries (10.39 meters / 34-01) and McCabe (10.36 meters / 33-11.75) finished fifth and sixth, respectively. Sophomore Chloe Ostrem set a personal best in the 400-meter hurdles (1:10.43), finishing fourth, and placed eighth in the 100-meter hurdles (16.90). In the 800-meter, senior Kalli Smith finished sixth (2:27.61), followed by junior Brooke Verkinnes in seventh (2:34.53), and first-year Karcyn Dose in eighth (2:35.19). First-year Allison Banse made a strong debut, taking third in the shot put with a throw of 11.52 meters (37-09.50), ranking 10th all-time at CSB. Senior Lexi Torres set a career best in the hammer throw (39.22 meters / 128-08), placing sixth, while sophomore Christian Smith finished seventh with a career-best throw of 38.88 meters (127-07). Smith also recorded a personal best in the discus, placing third with a throw of 36.72 meters (120-06), while Banse placed sixth (34.87 meters / 114-05).

Indoor Recap: Farquharson and Ahlberg Shine
At the MIAC Indoor Track and Field Championships, Sabriya Farquharson and Jaylyn Ahlberg stood out for the Bennies. Farquharson won the triple jump title with a leap of 11.40 meters (37-05), marking the third-best performance in school history and her second MIAC overall title after winning the long jump outdoors. Ahlberg claimed her third consecutive pole vault title with a season-best vault of 3.56 meters (11-08.00), ranking 34th nationally in Division III. This victory marked her second straight MIAC indoor title and her fifth win in the event this season. Senior Justus Floren earned All-MIAC honors, finishing second in the pentathlon with 3,281 points and second in the 60-meter hurdles (9.19), which ranks third all-time at CSB. Floren also posted a top-three finish in the long jump at the pentathlon with a mark of 5.52 meters (18-01). Junior Lauren Berg earned All-MIAC honors in the 800-meter, finishing second with a time of 2:17.65, which ranks fourth all-time at CSB. She also earned honorable mention All-MIAC for her fourth-place finish in the 600-meter (1:36.98), which ranks fifth all-time at CSB. The Bennies finished fifth in the MIAC Indoor Track and Field Championships with a total of 94.25 points.
