Kayti Helm set a new personal record and won the 400-meter hurdles at the Carleton Relays on Apr. 20.

The Blazers’ sent a small group to the meet on short notice, and Helm showed little rust in taking the win, breaking her previous career best by two-and-a-half seconds. She posted a 1:05.84 for the win, and now ranks as the top-time in the MIAC.

The mark is less than a second shy of the Blazer’s all-time record of 1:04.97, which has stood since the 2001 season.

Helm just missed the finals at the MIAC Championships last season, but her current time would have placed her in the top-five a year ago.
