NORTHFIELD, Minn. – After an impressive first two days of competition at the MIAC Indoor Track and Field Championships, the College of Saint Benedict track and field team wrapped up the meet with a MIAC record and three more times or marks in the top 10 in program history Saturday.
As a team, the Bennies finished in fourth at the 10-team meet in Northfield. CSB scored 94 points to finish just 10 points behind St. Olaf, which took fourth with 104.50. Bethel won the first team title in program history, and also became just the third women's track and field program in MIAC history to win an indoor track and field title with 134.5 points.
Sophomore
Fiona Smith won her second MIAC title of the meet and third of the school year Saturday as she beat Carleton's Clara Mayfield by two seconds in the 3,000-meter run. Smith's time of 9:34.60 marked a three-second personal best and school record, and also broke the MIAC record – which had stood since 1987- by 12 seconds. That time is also third-best in Division III this season.
Senior
Tracy Renier took seventh in the 3K in 10:27.26 – a personal-best time and the fifth-best time in CSB history.
Bridget Tetmeyer took 12
th in 10:35.49 and
Elise Yeager was 24
th in 10:57.46.
First year pole vaulter
Molly Vaughan also continued her climb up CSB's top-10 list as she took fourth in the event to earn All-MIAC Honorable Mention with a vault of 3.32 meters – a personal-best of nine centimeters and the seventh-best mark in program history.
Caitlin Salfer took ninth with a vault of 3.02 meters and
Olivia Hoff was 12
th with a mark of 2.87 meters.

Mirijana Ganley teamed up to earn All-MIAC Honorable Mention in the 800-meter relay. The foursome finished third in 1:46.15. Johnson also earned All-MIAC Honorable Mention thanks to a fourth-place finish in the 200 in 26.25 seconds. Speidel was 8

Kalli Smith took ninth in the 600 in 1:42.93 and

Stephanie Pickthorn just missed scoring in the triple jump as she took ninth with a mark of 10.22 meters, and
Danielle Anderson finished 15
th with a mark of 9.77 meters.
Nora Doyle led the Bennies in the 1,000-meter run, finishing 17
th in 3:14.69.
Natalie Lieser was 20
th in 3:21.09 and
Alex Cook took 21
st in 3:26.00.
Haley Joos was the top finisher in the shot put for Saint Benedict, taking 10
th with a toss of 11.65 meters.
Maggie Beckmann took 15
th with a mark of 10.55 meters and
Kendall Bechtold was 19
th with a toss of 9.88 meters. The 1,600-meter relay team of

th in 4:20.83.
The MIAC Championships wrap up the indoor season for the most of the Bennie squad. Smith will compete at the Division III Indoor National Championships in the 3,000 and 5,000-meter runs. The Bennies kick off the outdoor season March 5 at the Trinity Invite in Texas.
