ST. JOSEPH, Minn. - First-year
Allison Banse of the College of Saint Benedict track and field team, who recorded the third best shot put in school history at the UW-LaCrosse NCAA Qualifier on May 14, has been named the St. Cloud Orthopedic / CSB Athletics Athlete of the Week.

Banse, a first-year nursing major from Mankato, Minn., earned her first-year St. Cloud Orthopedics / CSB Athletics Athlete of the Week honor.
With her throw of 12.42m - 40-09, Banse not only recorded a personal-best but had a throw that ranks tied for third in program history with Haley Anderson in 2018. With the throw Banse finished eighth in the competition. Also at the qualifier, Banse had a throw of 35.95m - 117-11 in the discus.
During the 2025 season, Banse had a number of standout performances in her first season. Banse finished fifth in the shot put (12.23m - 40-1.5) and was fourth in the discus throw with a personal-best 39.82m - 130-8 at the MIAC Outdoor Championships on May 9-10. Banse's discus throw was the second-best in school history.
In total, she had 23 top eight finishes in throwing events during the indoor and outdoor seasons. At the MIAC Indoor Track and Field Championship, Banse had a sixth-place finish at 11.77m - 38-07.5 in the shot put.
Banse is also a member of the CSB volleyball team which won the MIAC Tournament Championship and advanced to the NCAA DIII regional tournament last fall.
