ST. CLOUD, MINN. –
Corrine Brown scored two goals to lead the College of Saint Benedict (5-4) to a 6-0 nonconference win over the University of Wisconsin-Superior (4-4) on Tuesday night at Ritsche Arena.
The Bennies won for a second straight time and for the fifth time in six outings. And St. Ben's won in big fashion by scoring six goals in a match for the second straight game. It is the first time, CSB has totaled six or more goals in consecutive matches since 7-4, 7-1 wins over Northland on Oct. 28-29, 2016.

Lindsay Macy was pleased with the second straight dominating win when the offense and defense combined across the board.
"That was a fun team win," said Macy, who now has five career wins in nine outings. "Everyone played well, and our specials teams were fantastic. It is a terrific way to go into the Thanksgiving break," she said.
Brown, a junior from Saint Paul, Minn., tallied her third and fourth goals of the season and now has nine in her career. She also helped initiate the first goal of the night when she had her fourth assist on an even strength goal by
Ava Stinnett, who tallied her second goal of the year, just 48 seconds into the game. Stinnett, a sophomore from North Oaks, Minn., now has seven goals in her career.
After a 1-0 lead through a period, the Bennies broke free for a pair of goals in the second period for a 3-0 lead. At 2:32, Brown scored on a power play goal off assists from
Aurora Opsahl and
Addy Hackley. At 19:04,
Kennedy Morris scored a short-handed goal for the 3-0 lead.
Then, CSB added three more goals in the third period. At 4:26 of the final period, first-year forward
Kaya Pelton-Byce tallied her first career goal on a power play. Assisting on the goal was
Sami Boerboom and
Chloe Lewis. At 10:46 of the third period, Brown scored her second goal off an assist from
Aurora Opsahl. The even strength goal provided the Bennies with a 5-0 lead. Then,
Chloe Lewis, a first year from Brooklyn Park, Minn., had her second goal of the season with assists from
Sydney Hunst and Pelton-Byce.
CSB, which will be off until hosting Bethel University on Dec. 2, again outshot its opponent to a 38-14 advantage. The Bennies had an 8-6 shot advantage in the first period and then put up 30 shots (14, 2
nd; 16, 3rd) to just eight for UW-Superior in the final two periods. The Bennies also took advantage of power plays with two goals in four attempts while UW-Superior was 0-7.
Kate Moffat started and earned her second win of the year in goal. She had 11 saves in playing the first two periods. Senior
Ally Frantzick played the third period and recorded three saves as the Bennies had 14 overall.
