The College of Saint Benedict basketball team is off to a solid start again in 2017-18, and senior Chelsey Guetter played a large role in that success over the weekend.
 
Guetter scored in double digits twice at the Quinlivan & Hughes Tip-Off Tournament to help CSB to a pair of wins, and has been named this week’s CSB Athlete of the Week.
 
Friday in a 68-46 win over Minnesota-Morris, Guetter had a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds, and she also tallied four assists. She was the top scorer and rebounder for either team.
 
On Saturday, she added 12 points and four rebounds to help CSB win 50-49 against UW-La Crosse. She also hit two free throws with 3:16 left in the game to put CSB up two, 47-45. This ended up helping CSB hold on for the win.
 
Guetter is currently 14^th in the MIAC averaging 14.0 points per game and eighth in the league averaging 8.0 rebounds per game. She is the leader for CSB in both of these categories as well. The CSB basketball team is now 2-0 and hosts UW-Superior at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 21.
