Last season, London Stelten improved her personal best in the pole vault by three centimeters at the MIAC Championships – her last meet of the 2016 indoor season. This season, she didn't waste any time.
 
In the College of Saint Benedict track and field team's first meet of the year Saturday afternoon, London Stelten recorded a mark of 3.55 meters – CSB's second-best indoor mark in school history.
 
For her personal improvement and the mark – which was good enough to win at the UWSP Pointer Quad – Stelten is this week's CSB athlete of the week.
 
The 3.55-meter vault was Stelten's personal best by 20 centimeters. Not only did this personal best come at the track and field team's first meet of the season, it came after a three-week break for the holidays.
 
In Division III track and field, Stelten's vault is currently ranked eighth and she leads the MIAC by 35 centimeters.
 
Stelten won both the MIAC indoor and outdoor pole vault titles last season and the 2015 outdoor title. This marks Stelten's 16^th win of her pole vaulting career.
