After scoring two goals in consecutive wins, Avery Soli earns the MIAC Offensive Player of the Week honor

09/22/2025

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Junior forward Avery Soli of the College of Saint Benedict soccer team has been named the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, following a standout weekend in which she scored two goals in consecutive victories.

This marks the first MIAC weekly honor of Soli's collegiate career. She also becomes the second straight CSB soccer player to earn the recognition this season, following Rhianna Anya, who was named Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 15.

Soli, AverySoli's performance was historic for CSB. She became the first player since Megan Thompson in 2019 to score multiple goals in back-to-back games. Her offensive output — four goals over two matches — also represents the most points in consecutive games for the program since Alli Coss tallied nine points across two matches in early September 2024.

In a 3-0 MIAC win over Bethel on Sept. 20, Soli struck early and late. She opened the scoring at the 10:43 mark with an assist from Laila Totushek, then added an unassisted goal in the 88th minute to seal the victory.

The next day, she continued her hot streak in a 5-2 non-conference win over UW-Stout (5-3-1). Soli converted a penalty kick at 16:49 to make it 2-0, then scored again at 50:55 off an assist from Addison Stephani. She also assisted on CSB's fourth goal, again linking up with Stephani to give their team a 4-0 lead.

Soli now leads the team with five goals on the season — tied for fourth in the MIAC — and has 10 goals in her collegiate career. In 2025, she's totaled 11 points, 13 shots (eight on goal), and two game-winning goals.

Next up for Soli and the Bennies is the resumption of their previously suspended match against the College of St. Scholastica, now scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 24. The match was halted earlier due to inclement weather.
