ST. PAUL, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict soccer team wrapped up its 2025 season on a high note Saturday, Nov. 1, with a 1-0 victory over Hamline in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) play — highlighted by
Laila Totushek's first career goal and
Claire McGrath's first-career shutout.
Totushek, who had three shots on goal, found the back of the net just over 10 minutes into the match, scoring at the 10:01 mark to give the Bennies an early lead they never relinquished in a hard-fought defensive battle. The win secured a 7-11-0 overall record and a 5-7-0 mark in the MIAC, placing CSB tied for sixth in the conference standings at Saint Mary's with 15 points. However, SMU earned the last spot in the MIAC Playoffs due to a win over CSB.
The Bennies dictated the tempo from start to finish, outshooting Hamline, 26-6, overall, including,13-4 in the first half, and 13-2 in the second stanza. CSB also held a 7-3 edge in corner kicks, while the Pipers' goalkeeper was kept busy with 12 saves.
