ST. JOSEPH, Minn. -- The College of Saint Benedict golf team will continue its spring season by competing at the Rumble at the Ridge golf tournament on Saturday, April 20 and Sunday, April 21 at the Oneka Ridge Golf Course in White Bear Lake, Minn. Bethel University will host the two-day event and live scoring will be available.

The event will be conducted with an 18-hole stroke play round on Saturday. On Sunday, CSB and other teams in the tourney will be involved in match play, based on results from Saturday. In addition, the tournament will include individual match play. Â
CSB places fifth at Gustie Spring Invite
In the opening competition of the spring, CSB placed fifth with a 97-over par, 673 (343-330) at the Gustie Spring Invite at the Emerald Greens Golf Course. The Bennies were led by a top-10 finish from sophomoreÂ
Jamie Bimberg with a two-round total of 18-over par, 162 (83-79). With a 79 on day two, she tied for the second-best round of her career. Bimberg had a team-high 19 pars in the tournament as well as a birdie on the par-four, 341-yard 16th hole on day one. SophomoreÂ
Catherine Jance was 22nd for CSB as she had a two-round total of 24-over par, 168 (86-82).  Senior three-time All-MIAC standoutÂ
Emily Renner opened the spring season with a tie for 25th after she had a 26-over ar, 170 (84-86).
Fall Review
In the fall, CSB placed three student-athletes in the top-21, including an eighth-place finish by Renner, to finish fifth for the fifth straight year at the MIAC Championships. CSB finished sixth or better in all five tournaments in the fall, including a second place result at the
UW-Eau Claire Georgianni
Blugold Invite.

A Look Back- MIAC Championships
The College of Saint Benedict golf team finished in fifth place at the 2023 MIAC Championships. As a team, the Bennies collected a team total of 141 over par on the final scorecard (1005 – 328/341/336). This was the 33rd time Saint Benedict had finished in the top-five during the conference tournament.
CSB was led by senior Chanhassen graduate,
Emily Renner. She shot a team high 26 over-par with 242 points which slotted her in eighth place. For the third time in her career, Renner finished in the top-10 individually at the MIAC Championships with a 26-over par, 242 (78-82-82), which placed her eighth. As one of the MIAC's lowest 10 individual scorers (including ties) at the tournament, Renner earned All-Championship Team honors. Each of these 10 student-athletes will automatically earn 2023-24
All-MIAC honors when postseason awards are announced in May.
Renner, who will earn her fourth straight
All-MIAC honor this coming spring, carded her 14
th top-10 finish in her career. She concluded the fall season with the sixth-best individual scoring average in the league at 77.1. In the final round, Renner had a 10-over par round of 82 (43-39) as she had 10 pars and a birdie on the 141-yard, par 3, 16
th hole. She finished with 22 pars and six birdies across the 54-holes on the par 72, 5,703-yard Royal Golf Course.
In her first MIAC tourney, CSB sophomoreÂ
Maggie Roth recorded a top-20 finish individually by placing in a tie for 16
th with a 31-over par, 247 (77-88-82). Roth concluded the tourney with a round of 10-over par, 82 (43-39). In the final round, Roth had 10 pars to go with a birdie on the 137-yard, par 3, 12
th hole. In total, Roth, who had a career-best 77 in the opening round, had 28 pars and three birdies. SophomoreÂ
Jamie Bimberg moved up in the overall individual rankings to a tie for 21st overall as she had an 81 in the final round and finished at 39-over par, 255 (89-85-81). Bimberg, who improved her score by four shots in each of the last two rounds, closed with a nine-over par, 81 (41-40).
Bimberg, who had a birdie on the 256-yard, par 4, third hole, had nine more pars. As a result, she finished with 19 pars and two birdies during the three rounds of the tourney.

Following the Rumble at the Ridge, the Bennies will travel to the Carleton-St Olaf Spring Invite from April 27-28 at Winnigers Golf Course in Northfield, Minn.

Senior
Emily Renner of Chanhassen, Minn., finished in the top-10 individually at the MIAC Championships with a 26-over par, 242 (78-82-82), which placed her eighth. As one of the MIAC's lowest 10 individual scorers (including ties) at the tournament, Renner earned All-Championship Team honors. She recorded an average round of 77.1.  She had two titles, finished top five twice and top-10 four times in the fall. Maggie Roth, a sophomore from Rush City, Minn., recorded a top-20 finish and placed tied for 16
th with a 31-over par 247 (77-88-82) at the MIAC Championship. On the season, she has shot an average 82.8 with 11 rounds and 911 shots. She had a low round of 77 and had one top-10 finish.

Jamie Bimberg, a sophomore from Chanhassen, Minn., finished 21
st at the MIAC Championships at 39-over par 255 (89-85-81). With a 2023-24 season average of 82.8, she has had 1,076 shots in 13 rounds with a low of 78.

Catherine Jance, a sophomore from Hopkins, Minn., placed 30
th with a score 45 over par round of 84-86-91 at the MIAC Championships. On the season, she is averaging 83.8 per round with 1,089 shots in 13 rounds with a best round of 80.

Georgia Hinton of Hopkins, Minn.,is averaging 89.5 per round as she has had 1,163 shots in 13 rounds with a low score of 83. She placed 42
nd at the MIAC Championship with a 68-over par round of 284 (95-94-95).

Schomer at the Helm
Daryl Schomer is in his 13th season as the College of Saint Benedict golf coach. CSB has now finished in the top five in 11 of Schomer's 12 seasons, including runner-up finishes in 2017-18 and 2018-19.
