COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – Last season, the College of Saint Benedict swim and dive team lost a MIAC dual to St. Thomas by 100 points. Friday in Collegeville, the Bennies came within 24 points of beating UST.

Mikayla Von Wahlde each won two events and CSB had eight total wins Friday in a 159-135 loss to St. Thomas.

Molly Johanson and
Thea Oman all picked up individual wins, and the 200 freestyle relay team wrapped up the meet with a first-place finish.
Quill continued her success on the diving boards Friday evening, picking up wins on both the 1- and 3-meter boards. She is undefeated on the 1-meter board this season after taking first with a score of 265.10 – just three points shy of the school record she set last weekend at Macalester. She also moved up to third in program history on the 3-meter board with a score of 246.75 – a 21-point personal best in one of her first few times competing on the higher board. Teammate
Artie Pomerenke took third on the 1-meter board with a mark of 250.00 – the fourth-best score in program history.
Von Wahlde swept the 100 and 200 backstroke races to score 18 points for her team. She won the 100 back in 1:01.42, and record a season-best time of 2:12.39 in winning the 200 backstroke.
Lauren Christiansen took third in the 200 backstroke in 2:17.68.
Milstroh, a first year, just missed sliding into CSB's top-10 list in the 100 breaststroke. She won the event in 1:09.93, and Johanson took third in 1:13.32. Misltroh also took second in the 100 butterfly in 1:01.16 – the ninth-best score in CSB history.
Oman picked up a big win in the 50 freestyle, finishing first in 26.11 seconds, and Johanson won the 400 IM in 4:58.04. Oman and Milstroh teamed up with
Madison Slavik and
Zoe Allyson to win the 200 freestyle relay in 1:42.85 to wrap up the meet.
Oman also took second in the 100 free in a new personal-best time of 56.65 seconds, and Johanson took second in the 200 breaststroke in 2:37.49.
Kayla Albers took third in the same race in 2:49.13.
Izzy Sonday took second in the 500 free in 5:41.22 and third in the 1,000 free in 11:44.51 – both personal bests.
Morgan Murphy finished third in the 500 free in 5:45.66, Allyson finished third in the 50 free in 26.58 seconds and Slavik, Milstroh,
Brenna Sharp and Oman took second in the 200 medley relay in 1:54.96.
CSB is off now until Nov. 23 when it heads to St. Paul for a 1 p.m. MIAC dual with St. Kate's.
