Swim and Dive Opens 2026-27 Season at MIAC vs. WIAC Invite

Bennies Welcome 10 new faces

10/15/2026

ST. JOSEPH, Minn. - The College of Saint Benedict swimming and diving team will begin its 2026-27 season at the MIAC vs. WIAC Invite, hosted by Carleton College and University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. The diving part of the meet will begin at 10:30 a.m. at Carleton's Thorpe Field, while swimming events will begin at 12 p.m. at Rochester-Olmstead County Recreation Center Natatorium.

Saint Benedict looks to build off a successful 2025-26 campaign that saw the Bennies finish fifth at the MIAC Championships, totaling 467 points, the most since 2011-12. In total, CSB finished with 10 All-MIAC performances, the most since 1999-2000. The eight overall titles were the most since winning 11 events in 1997-98, and finished with 18 marks inside the program's top-10 list. Head Coach Mandy Wolvert earned the MIAC Head Coach of the Year award for the first time in her career, while now-senior Haley Zelen (Shakopee, Minn./Shakopee) became CSB's first MIAC Swimmer of the Year. An incredible year for Zelen concluded with an NCAA runner-up finish in the 100-yard butterfly.

Saturday's meet will be the first collegiate competition for the Bennies' nine first-years, as Cora Bumgarner (Nelson, Minn./Alexandria Area), Jada Campbell (Victoria, Minn./Chanhassen), Keira Kilgard (Minnetonka, Minn./Minnetonka), Brynn McNanley (Medina, Minn./Wayzata), Abi Nagroski (Little Falls, Minn./Little Falls Community), Kayleigh Pregler (Big Lake, Minn./Big Lake), Haylee Quern (Shakopee, Minn./Shakopee), Sydney Thompson (Eden Prairie, Minn./Eden Prairie) and Claira Zebell (Blaine, Minn./Centennial) will make their debuts. Sophomore Haley Megaw (Monticello, Minn./Monticello) will make her Saint Ben's debut after transferring from Division II St. Cloud State University.

Along with Zelen returning for the Bennies, CSB brings back all-conference honorees from a season ago in seniors Jayda Alholm (Little Falls, Minn./Little Falls Community) and Mary Morris (St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Cathedral), and sophomores Addie Marsolek (Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville North) and Anna Schottler (Chanhassen, Minn./Chanhassen).
