ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – After picking up a 4-1 victory against Saint Mary's last Friday, the College of Saint Benedict soccer team looks to add another notch in the 'W' column Tuesday when it travels to St. Kate's. The two teams play at 4 p.m. in St. Paul, Minn., in a MIAC contest.
About the Wildcats
St. Kate's is 4-4-2 overall and 3-1-2 in the MIAC and is coming off a 1-0 victory at Concordia – the team's third straight win. Kaitlin Machovec leads the team with four goals and nine points, and Iryna Talkochova leads the team with three assists. Nine Wildcats have scored a goal this season. Jessica Perez-Adame and Tayler Koop have split time in goal and have combined for 44 saves and a 1.50 goals-against average.
Last Year
CSB beat the Wildcats 3-1 last year on Oct. 1 in St. Joseph. After a scoreless first half, CSB got out to a quick second half lead when
Taylor Hedin scored three goals in less than 10 minutes of play. Hannah Okerstorm scored the lone goal for St. Kate's in the 82
nd minute, but it was too little too late.

Nicole Newman each had an assist for CSB. The Wildcats held a 15-13 edge in total shots, but Saint Benedict had an 11-6 advantage in shots on goal.

Kendall Koenen is fourth in the league with 46 total saves. She is 7-2-1 with three shutouts and a .807 save percentage.
The Storyline
CSB trails fourth-place St. Kate's by one point in the MIAC rankings. With just five games left in the season, every game is a big game for CSB. After winning Saturday, the team looks to stay on track with a win Tuesday at St. Kate's. After Friday's game, CSB is back on the road for another MIAC game Saturday at Gustavus.
