ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict soccer team faces another tough test Saturday, Oct. 1, when it hosts St. Catherine. CSB and the Wildcats are tied for fourth with seven points in the conference, so Saturday's 1 p.m. game could have big implications for postseason standings down the road.
About the Wildcats
St. Catherine's enters Saturday's game 6-1-1 overall and 2-0-1 in the MIAC. The Wildcats one loss was a 7-1 loss to Whitewater last weekend. Since then St. Kate's has won two straight, including a 2-1 win over Macalester Wednesday. Hannah Okerstrom leads the team with 16 points and six goals on 61 total shots. Goalies Shelby Fehringer and Tayler Koop have combined for 41 saves and allow 1.97 goals per game.
Last Year
Saint Benedict beat the Wildcats 3-2 last season on Oct. 3 in St. Paul. The Blazers scored the game winning goal in the 83
rd minute to win. CSB outshot the Wildcats 17-10, including 10-5 in shots on net. Hannah Okerstrom scored both goals for the Wildcats.
Who to Watch
Jane Koch won MIAC Athlete of the Week honors – the first weekly honor for a CSB soccer player since 2014 – after scoring two key goals last week. She scored the tying goal against UST – the first goal the Tommies have given up all season – and added the game-winner against Carleton. Senior

The Storyline
CSB is coming off of a tough loss 3-0 at Augsburg on Wednesday. This key matchup could play a role in playoff seeding down the road, so it is important for both teams. Saint Benedict is trying to continue its solid season and improve on its 6-2-2 overall record and 2-1-1 mark in the MIAC.
