CSB golf splits at match play event

BECKER, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict golf team won one match and lost one over the weekend at the MIAC Spring Open, hosted by Bethel at Pebble Creek in Becker, Minn.
 
CSB started the weekend by beating Augsburg Saturday in the first round of match play. The Blazers won all five matches, as well as an individual match. Natalie Amundson, Lauren Wise, Riley Swenson, Liz Day and Madeline Pagel all won to help CSB defeat the Auggies 5-0, and Hannah Moen won her individual match.
 
Sunday morning the Blazers took on Bethel, and lost 3-2 in a close match. Pagel and Day won their matches – Pagel 4&3 and Day 2&1 – and Wise, Amundson and Swenson lost theirs. Wise and Amundson lost 1-up, and Swenson fell 4&3.
 
The Blazers return to action Saturday and Sunday, April 23-24, at the Royal Match, hosted by Bethel at Deer Run in Victoria, Minn.
