ST. JOSEPH, Minn. - The College of Saint Benedict golf team is set to compete at the 2026 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Championships Friday-Sunday, Oct. 2-4. All three rounds of the tournament are set to take place at Braemar Golf Course. The Bennies will begin teeing off at 11:50 a.m. on day one, playing alongside Bethel University and Gustavus Adolphus College.
CSB's lineup will be composed of juniors Avery Maus (Kimball, Minn./Kimball Area), Kenna Henriksen (Olivia, Minn./BOLD) and Sophia Anderson (Albany, Minn./Albany Area), sophomore
Layla Mathews (Becker, Minn./Becker) and first-year
Hallie Johnson (Red Wing, Minn./Red Wing). Maus, Mathews and Johnson are set to make their first conference championship appearance, while Anderson and Henriksen will play in their third. This will be Henriksen's second time in the MIAC Championships as a Bennie, though, as her appearance during her first-year came as part of the Gustavus Adolphus squad before transferring to CSB prior to the 2025-26 season.
Maus will be the first from Saint Benedict to tee off, as she is scheduled to begin her round at 11:50 a.m. Maus will be followed by Johnson (12 p.m.), Mathews (12:10 p.m.), Henriksen (12:20 p.m.) and Anderson (12:30 p.m.).
Saint Benedict eyes its first championship in program history. A season ago, the Bennies finished fourth, the best finish since a runner-up performance in 2018. CSB shot a three-round score of 962, its best championship total since 2017-18 (943).
Catherine Jance led the team with a career-best scored of 235, finishing ninth in the field. Jance earned a spot on the All-Championship Team and collected her second consecutive All-MIAC honor. Carleton College claimed the individual and team championship, as Carter Sichol bested the field with a score of 211. Sichol and the Knights went on to represent the MIAC at the NCAA Division III Women's Golf National Championship, with Sichol taking home the individual national championship title.
