Last time out:
On Tuesday the Blazers notched a victory in their conference opener against the Macalester Scots, tied for third in the MIAC preseason poll with the Carleton Knights. The match remained scoreless through the first half and most of the second half, until Senior Paige Olson broke the stalemate with her first goal of the season off a cross from Hoffman.  A good win over a tough opponent gave the Blazers a perfect start to their conference season after a short non-conference season.

Carleton got off to a hot start, winning three straight, but has cooled off considerably since, finding themselves on the losing end in two of their past three contests. The first loss came 2-1 against a UW-Stevens Point club that is ranked top-10 in the region. The latest loss came 1-0 against a St. Catherine's squad that didn't win or tie a single conference match in 2011, but does boast a host of new talent.

Matchup
The story of the match will be whether CSB's high-powered offense can penetrate Carleton's rock solid defense. Saint Benedict boasted the conference's best offense from a year ago, while Carleton returns a defense that allowed only three goals in conference play in 2011, the lowest total in the MIAC since 2008.  Knight defenders Rachel Foran and Layne Teska will attempt to direct Blazer forwards Colleen Bouchard and Ali Hoffman's golden boots away from their first year keeper Mikayla Coulombe. The match will be Carleton coach Jocelyn Keller's first match against one the MIAC's top-tier opponents.
