EDINA, Minn. - The College of Saint Benedict golf team concluded the St. Kate's Fall Invite, hosted by St. Catherine University, Sunday, Sept. 20 with a fourth-place finish out of 11 teams. The Bennies carded a 19-over 307 at the 5,699-yard par 72 Braemar Golf Course.
First-year
Hallie Johnson (Red Wing, Minn./Red Wing) led the team with a one-over 73 on the day, bringing her 36-hole score to a career-low 149, finishing tied for eighth in the 77-person field. Junior
Kenna Henriksen (Olivia, Minn./BOLD) finished with the second-best round of the day after shooting a five-over 77. Henriksen finished the weekend in a tie for 21st behind a score of 156. Junior
Sophia Anderson (Albany, Minn./Albany) recorded a six-over 78 to finish tied for 13th with a two-round score of 153.
University of Wisconsin-Stout took the championship behind a two-day score of 602. St. Kate's was second with a 608. Macalester College took third with a score of 612, while St. Olaf College followed CSB to round out the top-five with a score of 623. UW-Stout's Julia Imai claimed the individual victory behind an impressive two-day score of eight-under 136.
Saint Benedict returns to action one last time before the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Championships, which are set to take place Oct. 2-4. The Bennies will compete at the Carleton Invite Saturday-Sunday, Sept. 26-27.
