Soccer to Take on St. Scholastica for Regular Season Finale

Kickoff set for 1 p.m.

10/30/2026

ST. JOSEPH, Minn. - Hitting the road for the final regular season match of the season, the College of Saint Benedict soccer team makes the trip to Duluth, Minn. to face The College of St. Scholastica Saturday, Oct. 31. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at Kenny Harkins Field.

The Bennies (11-1-3, 6-1-3 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) look to secure their 12th win of the season for the first time since 2022. CSB enters off a crucial 0-0 tie with the MIAC Regular Season Champions Carleton College Saturday, Oct. 17. Saint Benedict's stellar defensive efforts were highlighted by a seven-save shutout effort for senior Rhianna Anya (Bloomington, Minn./Thomas Jefferson Sr.). Her, along with the stalwart defensive back line of sophomore Scarlett Johanson (South Saint Paul, Minn./South St. Paul Secondary), junior Sienna Chase (Tustin, Calif./Orange Lutheran) and first-year Mia Schellenberg (Champlin, Minn./Champlin Park), limited Carleton's offense to 14 shots on the night, just seven on frame.

The CSB offense has been led by first-year Eva Gower (Plymouth, Minn./Orono). Gower tops the team with 10 goals and 24 points in her stellar first-year campaign. Sophomore Elly Prairie (Blaine, Minn./Spring Lake Park) sits second with seven goals and 18 points, followed by five scores and 11 points from first-year Lilly DeRosier (Baxter, Minn./Brainerd).

Anya has anchored a strong CSB goalkeeper room all season. She sits fifth nationally in save percentage (.921), while Saint Ben's ranks 10th as a unit (.897). Anya tops the team with 35 saves across 720 minutes in goal and boasts a .38 goals against average. Sophomore Anna Mollenhauer (Owatonna, Minn./Owatonna) ranks second on the squad with 26 saves spanning 315 minutes between the iron.

CSB faces CSS (6-9-2, 2-6-2 MIAC) for just the eighth time dating back to 1991. The Bennies have won all seven previous meetings, including a 4-nil win most recently, Sept. 24, 2025. Addison Stephani scored a brace in the game, while Prairie added a goal. Now-sophomore Abby Paloranta (Osseo, Minn./Osseo) and now-senior Avery Soli (Ham Lake, Minn./Blaine) each recorded an assist. Now-sophomore Claire McGrath (Stillwater, Minn./Hill-Murray) and Anya split time in goal. McGrath made four saves over 55:48 minutes in goal, followed by a pair of stops in 34:12 between the posts from Anya to combine for the shutout. The Saints welcome CSB after most recently beating Concordia College, 2-nil, Saturday, Oct. 24.
