Soccer Hosts Carleton for Final Home Match of Regular Season

Kickoff slated for 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24

10/23/2026

ST. JOSEPH, Minn. - With the regular season winding down, the College of Saint Benedict soccer team will host its final home contest of the regular season Saturday, Oct. 24. The Bennies (11-1-2, 6-1-2 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) will host league-leading Carleton College for a 1 p.m. bout.

Saint Ben's enters the weekend off a 1-1 draw at St. Olaf College Tuesday, Oct. 20. Scoring presumably the latest regulation goal in program history, first-year Eva Gower (Plymouth, Minn./Orono) scored in the final second of the game to snag a crucial point in the MIAC standings. Gower's late heroics came after her first scoring attempt with three seconds left was saved, but the Plymouth, Minn. beat the buzzer as she buried her rebound. In goal, senior Rhianna Anya (Bloomington, Minn./Thomas Jefferson Sr.) played a clean first half for the Bennies, as she made seven saves over the first 45 minutes.

Anya powers the CSB defense, as she leads the team with 28 saves across 630 minutes between the pipes. Her .903 save percentage leads the MIAC and ranks ninth in Division III, while her .43 goals against average is good for 23rd nationally. As a goalkeeper unit, the Bennies sit 14th in the country in save percentage, boasting a .887.

Offensively, Gower leads Saint Benedict with 10 goals and 24 points. Sophomore Elly Prairie (Blaine, Minn./Spring Lake Park) follows with seven goals and 19 points on the season. First-year Lilly DeRosier (Baxter, Minn./Brainerd) rounds out the top-three with five scores and 11 points. Sophomore Allison Cammerrer (Savage, Minn./Prior Lake) tops the team with five assists, followed closely by Gower and Prairie with four apiece.

Saint Ben's will take on Carleton (11-1-1, 9-0 MIAC) for the 46th time dating back to 1985. The Bennies own a slim 23-20-2 edge in the series, but have not taken down the Knights since a double-overtime winner in 2021. Carleton has snagged the last two meetings, while the two prior ended in draws. Most recently, CSB was stymied, 3-nil, Oct. 14, 2025. Now-sophomore Claire McGrath (Stillwater, Minn./Hill-Murray) logged seven saves across 90 minutes in goal.
