ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict lacrosse team (10-5), which has seven straight victories, is seeded second and will face host and No. 3 seeded Wisconsin-Eau Claire (10-6) in the WIAC Playoffs at 5:30 p.m., on Friday, May 2 at Sonnentag Fieldhouse in Eau Claire, Wis.
St. Ben's is one of four teams which will play in the playoffs on May 2-3 in Eau Claire, Wis. The top seeded and regular season champion Colorado College (16-3) will face No. 4 UW-LaCrosse (10-5) at 3 p.m., in the other semifinal matchup.
The winners of the two semifinals games will play at 5:30 p.m., for the league championship. The WIAC playoffs will also include third-place game between the two non-advancing teams at 3 p.m., May 3.
This is the initial year in the WIAC for CSB lacrosse, which is an affiliate member in the league. The Bennies, which won two Midwest Lacrosse Conference titles in 2023 and 2024, finished second in its first year in the WIAC. Colorado College was 9-0 in the WIAC with CSB at 7-2 and UW-Eau Claire, 7-2 tied for second. CSB had a 12-6 win over the Blugolds to earn the second seed. UW-LaCrosse was 6-3 and tied with UW-River Falls for fourth place but held the tiebreaker to earn the playoff berth.
Series – Playoff Notes
In its playoff history, the Bennies own a 2-2 overall record, all as part of the Midwest Lacrosse Conference. CSB, which joined the WIAC as an affiliate member on May 29, 2024, will face UW-Eau Claire for the second time this year and third time in program history. CSB earned a 12-6 home win over the Blugolds on April 14. On March 13, 2024, UW-Eau Claire recorded an 18-13 win over the Bennies in Eau Claire, Wisc. The WIAC Playoffs were held for the first- time a year ago with Colorado College winning the title by a 16-5 decision over UW-LaCrosse. UW-Eau Claire looks to Colorado College, 22-8, a year ago in River Falls, Wis. In the third-place game, the Blugolds recorded a 12-11 victory over UW-River Falls.
Player Highlights
- Sami Hackley (Junior): Hackley has scored 35 goals and dished out nine assists for 44 points. Her goals and points rank second in CSB. Hackley, who is tied with Mosley with 76 shots, has three game winning goals this year with a program-best nine in her career. Hackley also has 22 ground balls, 11 caused turnovers and two draw controls. With 125 career goals, she's the first player in CSB history to reach that level of goal scoring. Hackley, who has a program best 152 points, has scored multiple goals in 22 of her last 26 games and has eight games with five or more goals, including a program-record nine against Augsburg on April 12, 2024. In her career, Hackley has a program-best 33 multi-goal games. This year, she has 11 multi-goal games, including four straight.
- Ava Mosley (First Year): In 15 games this season, the first-year attack has a team-high 53 points with highs on CSB in goals with 38 and assists with 15. She now has 10 multi-goal games, including seven straight and in eight of the past nine games. She also has 21 ground balls, and three game-winning goals. Mosley has a career best five goals and eight points in the win over Hamline on March 12, 2025. Five times she has recorded five points or more.
- Izzy Bohlman (First Year): Bohlman has contributed 29 goals and two assists for 31 points, ranking third on the team. She has 25 ground balls, 13 caused turnovers and 23 draw controls.
- Hannah Kurowski (First Year): Kurowski has 15 goals and six assists, accumulating 21 points. She has four multi-goal games, including a high of three goals against Southwestern on April 26, 2025.
- Lizzie Schrubbe (Sophomore): Schrubbe has scored 16 goals with 12 assists for 28 points. She also has 31 ground balls (tied for second on CSB) with eight caused turnovers. In her career she now has 62 assists and 46 goals for 108 career points. Last season, she set a program record with 50 assists for a season and 12 points in a single game. Schrubbe has six multi-goal games this year and 16 in her career. Her career total of 62 assists is a program best mark.
- Emma Nelson (Sophomore): Nelson scored 14 goals and dished 12 assists for 26 points this season. She also has 21 ground balls, a team-high 15 caused turnovers and 38 draw controls (2nd on CSB). She has four multi-goal games this year and 12 in her career. Nelson has totaled 36 goals and 19 assists with 55 points in her career.
- Emma Osland (Senior): Osland, who scored season-high three goals in the win over UW-Eau Claire, has recorded double-digit goals for a third straight year. She has 10 goals and three assists for 13 points along with 19 ground balls and 23 draw controls this year. For her career, she has played 43 games with 37 starts, 57 goals, 12 assists and 69 points. She has 70 ground balls and 74 draw controls in her three years at CSB.
- Merrill Delich, a first year, has 14 goals, including a career-high four against Southwestern and eight assists for 22 points. She also has 10 ground balls and 26 draw controls.
- First-year Kamryn Peterson has reached double-digits in goals with 10 and added three assists for 13 points and has recorded 17 draw controls.
- Junior Ella Steinke has four goals and five assists with a team-high 43 draw controls and 25 ground balls. She has totaled 47 goals, 25 assists and 72 points in her career. In addition, she has three game-winning goals and 93 draw controls.
- Senior Emma Schrepfer has totaled six goals this season and now has 30 in her career. With 16 assists, she has totaled 46 career points with 54 ground balls, 15 draw controls and 30 caused turnovers in her career.
- Chloe Lewis (Goalkeeper): Lewis, who is 8-5 this season in net, has made 107 saves in 13 starts this season, with 9.43 goals against average. In the last seven games – all wins, Lewis has allowed a total of 31 goals or 4.5 goals per game average She now has 399 saves, 9.52 goals against average and 27-12 record. Lewis has faced 1,049 shots in her career when she has accumulated 2,520 minutes.
CSB Team Stats
Through 15 regular season games, CSB ranked fourth in the WIAC in goals per game at 14.27 while ranking third in goals against average of 9.07., CSB, which ranks fourth with 20.73 points per game, was second in the WIAC with 33.00 shots per game. In terms of shots on goal, CSB was fourth with 24.80. has scored 214 goals and registered 97 assists. On ground balls, the Bennies rank third with 355 or 23.67 per game. The Bennies forced 11.87 turnovers (178 total) per game for second in the WIAC while shitting third in draw controls at 14.93 per contest (224).

In his third season at the helm,
Patrick Crandall holds a 30-13 record and has led the Bennies to two Midwest Lacrosse Conference titles with an undefeated 12-0 conference record. In CSB's first season in the WIAC, Crandall's team finished second with a 7-2 record and 10-5 overall. In all three years in program history, the Bennies have reached the postseason playoffs with a 2-2 overall record.
