ST. PETER, Minn. – With eight season-bests, 27 top-eight finishes, including seven top-three efforts, the College of Saint Benedict swim and dive Team placed third with 612 points at the Grace Goblirsch Invite, hosted by Gustavus Adolphus.
At the Grace Goblirsch Invite, Gustavus Adolphus scored 1,298 points for the top team score as Macalester was second with 919; Saint Benedict, third, 612; and Morningside, fourth, 209. Next for CSB swim and dive will competing at the Rochester Invite on Nov. 30-Dec. 2.
First-year
Claire Canfield, who had a trio of top-five placements in individuals' event, had a team-best individual finish on the day by taking second with a season-best in the 400-IM at 5:03.90. Also, in the 400-IM, senior
Laura Jennings was fourth in 5:06.45, also a season-best.
Senior
Emi Wagner, who also swam on two fourth place relays, placed third in the 50-free by clocking a season-best 25.30. In the same event, CSB had an eighth-place finish by senior
Jocie Larson in 26.14.
Sophomore
Morgan Stout had a big day for CSB with a pair of season-bests and three top-four finishes in individual events. In the 1,600 free, Stout finished fourth with a season-best 20:24.19 with first-year
Jayda Alholm, seventh in 21:19.03 while
Emma Vicker was eighth in 21:22.07. Both Alholm and Vicker had season-bests.
Stout led a 3-4-5 finish in the 200-free by placing third with a season-best clocking 2:06.66 while senior
Hannah Tatge was fourth in a season-best 2:09.57 and Canfield, fifth in 2:09.61. In addition, first-year
Josey Jackson was eighth in 2:10.15. Stout also had a solid effort by placing third in the 500 free, clocking 5:40.44.
Sophomore
Lauren Sitzman took third in the 200-back in 2:18.39 while Canfield was fifth in 2:20.26. Jennings was also fifth in the 100-fly in 1:04.29. In the 200 IM, CSB's top finisher was first-year
Josey Jackson in 2:26.17.
Sophomore
Rachel Schlueter placed third in the 100-back with a time of 1:03.58 with
Lauren Sitzman, seventh in 1:05.77.
In diving, first-year
Ella Kowalczyk finished fifth on both boards. On the three-meter board, she had a season-best score of 202.0 and had a 198.70 on the 1-meter board. Senior
Claire Hippen was eighth on the 1-meter board for 177.0 points.
The Bennies placed fourth in the 200-medley relay with a team of sophomore

Emi Wagner clocking 1:54.85. CSB was eighth in the same relay in 2:02.18 with a team of sophomore

CSB also placed fourth in the 400-free relay as a team of Haskamp, Tatge, Larson and Wagner had a 3:51.50 clocking. CSB also placed sixth in the 400 free relay as a team of Hanson, Jackson, Stout, and Canfield finished in 3:56.35.
Bartels was fifth in the 100-breast in 1:13.35. CSB's top placer in the 200-breast was sophomore
Liz Hansen in 2:46.73.
