EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – The College of Saint Benedict golf team hit the road for the first time this weekend, heading to Eau Claire, Wisconsin to participate in the Georgianni Blugold Invite on Saturday and Sunday.  

Kicking off Saturday at Wild Ridge Golf Course, the team shot a total of 352 to put them in 6th place out of 12 teams on day one, just three strokes behind UW-Oshkosh in 5th place with a 349. UW-La Crosse sits atop the leaderboard with a team total of 313 on the first day.  

Junior Emily Renner led the Bennies with a first-round score of 81, putting her tied for 6th individually. Behind her was first year Jamie Bimberg, who shot her best round of the season so far with a score of 83 to put her tied for 8th individually.  

Sophomore Georgia Hinton carded a first-round 93 and sits tied for 40th individually and rounding out the top four golfers for Saint Benedict was sophomore Sami Boerboom, who shot a day one score of 96 and is sitting tied for 46th.  

Macalester's Bailey Lengfelder leads the individual rankings with a first day round of 75, followed by Molly Larsen and Allison Balduzzi from UW-La Crosse who are tied for second with rounds of 76.  

The Bennies second and final round of the Georgianni Blugold invite starts tomorrow at 10:45 a.m. at Eau Claire Golf & Country Club.
