BLAINE, Minn. – Sophomore forward
Ava Stinnett put in the game winner as the College of Saint Benedict (7-4, 5-1 MIAC) recorded a fourth straight win with a dramatic 3-2 overtime win over Bethel in MIAC action on Saturday night.
St. Ben's has swept the weekend home-and-home series with the Royals after a 3-1-win last night at Ritsche Arena in St. Cloud and today's 3-2 overtime victory. CSB's last win in overtime was Feb. 5, 2022, over Concordia, a 1-1 decision won by a 2-0 shootout. It is the third straight win in overtime for the Bennies.
The Bennies stand 7-4 overall and with a 5-1 MIAC record are tied for second with Hamline.
CSB, which led 2-0 before the home-standing Royals rallied to tie the game, have won seven of eight games since opening the season at 0-3. The Bennies will now be on break until they face No. 1 ranked Gustavus Adolphus in a home-and-home series on Jan. 13-14 with the second of the games at Ritsche Arena in St. Cloud on Jan. 14.
"Bethel had a great game plan against us, and they played extremely well," said CSB first-year Head Coach
Lindsay Macy. "However, our players found a way to win, and, once again, good teams find ways to win. I am proud of the team for digging deep and getting it done," she said.
At 14:57 of the opening period, the Bennies jumped in front 1-0 in the opening period with an even strength goal from
Chloe Lewis, who tallied her third goal of the season.

Emily Lemker recorded her first goal of the season and fourth of her career off an assist from
Kennedy Morris at the 14:59 mark of the second period.
Then, Bethel recorded a pair of power play goals late in the second period. The first of those goals was by Lindsay Muntifering at 17:17 with Julia McAlpin and Kallie Abrahamson earning assists. Bethel, which was 2-of-4 in power plays, tied the game at the 18:16 mark on a power play goal from Abrahamson. On the game-tying goal, Megan Johnson received the assist.
Both teams had opportunities in the third period but the goaltending, and defense held on to force overtime. Then, early in the extra session, Stinnett tallied her- eighth career goal and third of the season.
Stinnett of North Oak, Minn., had a solid game by winning 12-of-20 face offs as CSB won 31-of-58 as a team. She also had four shots on goal. With her two assists, Brown took over the team lead in that category with eight and ranks second on the team in points with 12 (
Aurora Opsahl, 13).
For the first time this season, St. Ben's did not hold the edge in shots as the Royals had a 28-to-22 margin.

Ally Frantzick was solid in goal with 26 saves. The senior from Woodbury, Minn., is now 5-3 on the season and registered her 12
th career win.
