ST. JOSEPH, MINN. -- In the regular season finale, the College of Saint Benedict Soccer Team (12-5, 8-2, 2nd, MIAC), which has won 10 of its last 12 matches, will play at Carleton College (12-1-1, 8-0-2) for the MIAC Championship on Saturday at 1 pm in Northfield, Minn.
The Bennies and Knights are both ranked in the NCAA DIII Region IX top six.. CSB is sixth while Carleton College is fifth. If CSB wins the match on Saturday, they will win their first MIAC title since 2013. It would be CSB's sixth title overall (1991, 2002, 2003, 2011, and 2013). Currently, CSB is 8-2 and in second place with Carleton College at 8-0-2. CSB, 12-5 overall, has 12 wins or more for the 20
th time, completed their regular season home schedule at 7-0.

The team that wins on Saturday earns the regular season title and with it a bye in the opening round. CSB, which has clinched at least a top-three finish, could finish second or third defending on the results of other MIAC matches on Saturday.

CSB has a 32-7 goal differential in last 12 matches
Over the last 12 matches, CSB has 10 wins and a goal differential of 32-7 with five shutouts. In the MIAC, CSB is second and a half-game ahead of St. Olaf and St. Catherine at 7-2-1. In 2022, the Bennies have registered its 26th overall (since 1984) winning season.
This year, CSB is averaging 2.29 goals per match, second in the MIAC, and allowing .76 for a 1.51 margin, also second in the league. CSB has scored 39 goals and delivered 259 shots. CSB's shot accuracy of 0.614 is 36th in NCAA DIII and first in the league. The Bennies also ranked 42
nd in DIII and second in the MIAC in save percentage at 0.854.
A sophomore from Edina, Minn., Voss leads the MIAC in goals scored with 12 in 17 matches for a .706 per game average. She also has six game-winning goals which also leads the conference and ranks fourth in NCAA DIII. Voss is second in the MIAC at 1.59 points per match but has the highest total of 27 (12 goals and three assists). Voss, who ranks 13
th in DIII in shot accuracy (0.744) in NCAA DIII, also ranks third in shots on goal with 1.88 in the MIAC. In her career (35 matches/31starts), she has totaled 15 goals with 36 points and eight game-winning goals. Three times she has had two goals in the same game.
With Voss leading the way, CSB is tied for first in goals scored at 39 with a 2.294 score average, which is also second.
Caralyn Conners has 17 points (8
th, MIAC) and six goals, which is tied for the eighth best total in the league. With five assists, she ranks fifth in the MIAC. In goal,
Annie Waters is 6-2 with 29 saves while
Paige Kahlmeyer is 6-3 with 44 saves. Kahlmeyer ranks first in the MIAC and 33rd in NCAA DIII in goals against average at .530 while her save percentage of 0.880 is 21st in DIII and first in the MIAC.
Carleton leads the MIAC with one match to play
In the last five matches, Carleton, which is ranked fifth in the regional rankings, has a 3-0-2 mark. In the most recent matchup, Carleton had a 0-0 tie at St. Catherine. Carleton, which has a 39-12 advantage in goals over opponents, average 2.6 goals per match and allow .80. Casey McVeagh leads the way for the Knights with 24 points, including nine goals and six assists. She has three game-winning goals. Cate Patterson, Hadley Twichell and Kathryn Kresse all have 15 points on the season.

In the last meeting between CSB and Carleton College on Oct. 30, 2021, the Bennies took a 1-0 double-overtime victory as

th minute. CSB owns a 23-18 overall series edge with wins in four straight matches. CSB, which is 6-9 at Carleton, own a 22-17 edge in conference record against the Knights. In the first matchup in October, 1985, the Knight registered a 5-0 win. Carleton's last win was 2-1 on Oct. 28, 2017 at St. Joseph. Twenty-three times, matches between the teams have been decided by one goal with Carleton holding a 12-11 edge in those match ups.

The Bennies, which has opened 2022 with 12 wins in 17 matches, have finished in the top four in eight of Kimble's 13 seasons. Kimble, who also serves as Assistant Athletic Director at CSB, is 140-76-26 overall at Saint Benedict with an 89-42-12 mark in conference play. CSB has recorded winning seasons in 12 of his 14 years with the program and has finished the year with a winning record 32 of the past 34 years. In his 14
th season, Kimble has coached three All-Americans, two MIAC Players of the Year, one MIAC Rookie of the Year, 18 All-Region athletes, 29 All-MIAC athletes and 19 All-MIAC Honorable Mention selections.
