COON RAPIDS, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict golf team completed the second day of the MIAC Championships today, falling to 6th place in the team standings but still in a good spot to move up with one day left to play.
The CSB golf team shot a second day team total of 332, adding two strokes to their first day team total of 330, for a two-day total of 662. The Bennies sit just one stroke behind the Gustavus Gusties, who are in 5th with a two-day score of 661. Carleton leads the team standings with a two-day total of 604.
Sophomore Georgia Hinton and first year Jamie Bimberg led the Bennies on day two, both carding second round 81's. Bimberg sits tied 15th individually and Hinton is tied for 29th. Junior Emily Renner is tied for 19th individually after shooting a second round 83.
Junior Hayden Boelter shaved five strokes off her first-round score, shooting a second-round 87 to put her tied for 41st individually. Sophomore Sami Boerboom carded a 92 on the second day to put her 33rd individually.
St. Kate's Kyra Venne holds her first place position after day two with a two-day total of 147, followed by a two-way tie for second held by Carleton's Carter Sichol and Natalie Tatar with totals of 149.
The Bennies will finish the MIAC Championships tomorrow afternoon with their third and final round at Bunker Hills, with the first tee time beginning at 10:56 a.m.
