Live Stats/Video

ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict soccer team put on another show for its home fans Sunday against Gustauvs. The Bennies picked up a 3-2, double overtime win that featured two goals in the final 30 seconds of regulation, a penalty kick and the game-winner from first year Ella Young in the 105th minute of play.

The Bennies look to keep that home winning streak alive Sunday, April 25, when they host Saint Mary's starting at 2 p.m. at the OAC. Fans are welcome in the grandstand – masked and socially distant – and live stats and video are also available here.

ABOUT THE CARDINALS
After a loss to St. Thomas to start the season, Saint Mary's bounced back with a 1-0 win at Augsburg and an overtime win at Concordia. Jordyn Matthews leads the team with a goal and an assist, and Emily Schaffer has two assists. Ashley Nguyen has seen the most time in net and has seven saves to her name.

LAST MEETING
Saint Benedict shut out the Cardinals in 2019, winning 2-0 in Winona. Roxy Veldman scored both goals for the Bennies - one less than three minutes into the game and another in the 70th minute. Paige Kahlmeyer played in net the second half and made two saves.

THE STORYLINE
Five players have gotten in on the scoring action for the Bennies so far this season, including a trio of first years. Saint Benedict looks to keep getting productive shots on offense while keeping opposing teams away from Kahlmeyer and the net.

WHO TO WATCH:
Clair Lehmann, Ella Hinkemeyer and Ella Young all scored the first goals of their collegiate careers Sunday against Bethel. Lehmann's goal tied the game in the second half, Hinkemeyer scored on a PK to put the Bennies up 2-1, and Young's goal came in double OT to secure the win for her team. Sophomore goalie Paige Kahlmeyer is currently second in the MIAC with 18 saves.
