BECKER, Minn. – Senior
Emily Olson recorded a top-15 finish to pace the College of Saint Benedict golf team Sunday in the second and final day of the Battle at the Creek, hosted by Bethel at Pebble Creek in Becker.
Saint Benedict was in 12
th place after Saturday's first round, and moved up four spots to finish in a tie for eighth. After shooting a 357 Saturday, the Bennies shot a 353 Sunday to finish with a two-round total of 701. St. Kate's won the event with a 632, Bethel took second with a 643 and St. Thomas finished third with a 672.
Olson finished in 11
th after two rounds with a 163. She was in fourth with a 77 after the first round, then shot an 86 Sunday afternoon. Junior
Grace Hillemeier finished tied for 31
st with a 176 after shooting an 87 Saturday and an 89 Sunday.
Senior
Bridget Amundson tied for 44
th with a 182. She shot a 96 Saturday, and took 10 strokes off that total Sunday with an 86. First year
Hayden Boelter finished tied for 60
th in her first collegiate competition. She shot a 97 Saturday and a 96 Sunday for a two-round total of 193. Sophomore
Molly Herker rounded out the team in a tie for 62
nd with a 194. She shot a 102 Saturday and a 92 Sunday.
CSB is back in action Saturday and Sunday, April 24-25, at the St. Olaf/Carleton Invite in Northfield.
