ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – Five different players scored and two different players recorded their first collegiate points Tuesday night as the College of Saint Benedict hockey team beat St. Olaf 5-1 in a nonconference tilt at Ritschie Arena in St. Cloud.
CSB (3-3) scored twice in both the first and second periods, and first year
Emily Lemker wrapped up the game with the first goal of her Saint Benedict hockey career in the third and final period as the team picked up its third win of the season.
After scoring the game-winner against Concordia Friday,
Rylan Bistodeau started the game with her second goal of the season Tuesday at the 4:57 mark of the first period. Her goal came off an assist from
Myka Stave.
Zoe Culshaw-Klein scored the eventual game-winner at the 13-minute mark when she took a puck out in front of the net and drilled it past the Oles' goalie to make it 2-0.
Mollie Wise and
Riley Schneider were credited assists.
Annika Brodt scored her second goal of the season at the 5:23 mark of the second period, and Wise added a goal of her own less than a minute later. Brodt's goal was a tip-in off a pass from
Courtney Conlin and
Lily Aamodt – Aamodt's first points of her collegiate career. Wise scored from the right side of the Oles net, and her goal came off assists from Lemker and Schneider.
The Oles (0-9) got on the board 10 minutes into the final period when Mary Kate Eiden got a rebound and dumped the puck into the back of the net, but Lemker made sure CSB had the last word. Her first collegiate goal came unassisted at the 13:56 mark of the final period.
Saint Benedict outshot the Oles 36-19. CSB had 12 shots in each period while holding St. Olaf to single digits.
Kailee Medved picked up her first win of the season after making 18 saves in net.
CSB is off now until Saturday, Dec. 7, when it heads to St. Paul for a MIAC game against St. Kate's. The Bennies host the Wildcats at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8.
