ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict volleyball team is back at home and starts the bulk of its MIAC schedule Wednesday, Sept. 21, when it hosts Macalester at 7 p.m. CSB heads into the game looking for its first MIAC win after falling to UST in its home opener last week.
About the Scots
Macalester enters Wednesday's game with a record identical to CSB at 5-7 overall and 0-1 in the MIAC. The Scots are coming off a 3-1 win against Maranatha Baptist, but started conference play with a 3-1 loss to Concordia last week. Clara Baumann (122) and India Medaris (120) lead the team in kills, Brooke Hunter has 229 assists and Hoai-Nam Bui has 220 digs.

CSB beat Macalester 3-1 on Sept. 23 in St. Paul.
Lauren Mathews and
Meghan Koop both had seven kills, and
Megan Pekarek finished the night with 40 assists, eight kills and eight digs. Koop also had 22 digs for CSB, and Mathews had six of the team's 16 total blocks.
Who to Watch
First year
Cami Hoover had a big weekend at the Wartburg Tournament this past weekend. She started with 10 kills Friday against Luther, then added 15 more in a win over Buena Vista Saturday morning.
Megan Pekarek led the team in kills (9) and assists (26) and also had eight digs against Wartburg, and she leads the MIAC with 9.21 assists per set.
The Storyline
CSB is looking for its first MIAC win of the year and first home win of the year Wednesday night. Saint Benedict is also looking to gain some momentum as it hits the road against a tough Bethel team Saturday, then plays two home matches against Saint Mary's and St. Olaf next weekend. CSB has kept most sets close so far this season, including a 30-28 second-set loss to Wartburg Saturday, but is looking to close out those sets to get add some more wins to its season total.
