ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict basketball team continues the conference season this week when it hosts Carleton College. The Blazers welcome the Knights at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3, in Claire Lynch Hall.
About Carleton
The Knights head into the matchup 1-3 and 0-1 in the MIAC, including a 61-60 loss against Saint Mary's Wednesday in Northfield. Carleton's other two losses both came to teams currently ranked in the top 25 in Division III. Carleton is coming off a 2015-16 season where it went 4-21 overall and 1-17 in the MIAC. Three Knights average double digits in points this season.
Last Year
Saint Benedict beat Carleton 65-50 last year on Dec. 2 in St. Joseph. The Blazers got out to an early 32-14 lead at halftime, and cruised to a win.
Annie Dittberner had 10 points, and
Niki Fokken led Saint Benedict with nine rebounds. Nnenna Ezemhad 10 points and seven rebounds for the Knights.

Alison Newton leads the team with 10.6 points per game followed by
Kate Banovetz with 9.6 points per game, and
Chelsey Guetter averages 8.2 rebounds per game.
The Storyline
Saint Benedict has opened the 2016-17 season with five straight wins and the latest was a 60-53 win against St. Catherine on Wednesday. This marks the first 5-0 start for Saint Benedict since 2003-04. CSB looks to stay undefeated with a win over Carleton before another conference game Wednesday, Dec. 7, when it hosts Augsburg College at 7 p.m.
