2013-2014: Appeared in 23 games for CSB ... scored 47 points (2.0 ppg) in 330 minutes (14.3 mpg) ... dished out 26 assists ... grabbed 35 rebounds (1.5 rpg) ... scored a career high seven points against Carleton on February 15.

High School: A 2013 graduate of Pine Island High School … coached by Rick Canton … six-year member of the basketball, soccer and softball teams … named all-Conference in basketball a as junior and senior, while earning Honorable Mention honors as a sophomore … team MVP and Academic All-State as a senior … earned All-Conference and All-Section honors as a sophomore, junior and senior in softball … softball team MVP as a sophomore and senior … named Second Team All-State Section 1AA in softball as a senior … also earned All-Conference honors in soccer … Pine Island High School Athlete of the Year as a senior. Newton also played for the Minnesota Fury AAU basketball team.
 
Personal: Daughter of Jeff and Angela Newton … has one brother, Justin … a psychology major.
