April 11-12 Heptathlon Event SheetST. JOSEPH, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict athletic teams wrap up the celebration of Division III week with a busy slate both at home and on the road this weekend.
The Blazer softball, tennis and track and field teams are home both Saturday and Sunday, April 11-12, and the CSB golf team hits the road for its first tournament of the spring those same days.
To help end DIII week on a high note, the CSB SAAC is hosting a cookout Sunday during the home tennis and softball matches. Hot dogs will be grilled and served at no charge to all fans in attendance from 1-3 p.m. near the tennis courts and softball field.
Kicking things off at home Saturday morning is the Blazer tennis team, which hosts Bethel starting at 10 a.m. at the courts on the CSB campus. Saint Benedict turns around and hosts Saint Mary's at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 12. The Blazers are 5-8 overall, 2-2 in the MIAC and on a three-match winning streak heading into the weekend's matches. The Royals are 11-5 overall and 3-2 in the league and Saint Mary's is 7-5 overall and 3-4 in the MIAC.
The Blazer track and field team hosts its second and final meet of the outdoor season starting at 11 a.m. Saturday. CSB hosts Michigan Tech, Bemidji State and Concordia as part of its quad, and Saint John's hosts Michigan Tech and Concordia. Women's events kick off at 11:15 a.m. with the 3,000-meter steeplechase, and field events start at 11 a.m. with the long jump, shot put and javelin.
As well as hosting a quad, the Blazers are also hosting a multi-event meet. The women's heptathlon starts at 1:55 p.m. Saturday, and continues starting at 12:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon. CSB athletes

Micayla Westendorf and Megan Sunstrom will compete in the heptathlon. The men will compete in the decathlon at those same times. Both the quad and multi will be held at Clemens Stadium on the SJU campus.
The Blazer softball team returns home and is looking for its first MIAC sweep of the year this weekend. Saint Benedict hosts Concordia at 1 p.m. Saturday and Macalester at 1 p.m. Sunday. The Blazers head into the back-to-back home doubleheaders coming off a split with Bethel Wednesday. CSB won the first game 3-1 thanks to the pitching of
Cassie Meyer and fell 9-2 in the second game.
Saint Benedict enters the weekend 14-10 overall and 3-3 in the MIAC. Concordia is 8-11 overall and 2-6 in the league and on a six-game losing streak heading into Saturday. The Scots are 16-9 overall and 4-4 and just ahead of CSB in the league standings. Macalester is on a three-game winning streak.
The Blazer golf team heads to its first tournament of the spring Saturday and Sunday when it travels to Becker, Minn., for the MIAC Open. Bethel, Augsburg, St. Kate's, Concordia, St. Olaf and UW-River Falls will also be in attendance. Tee times start at noon Saturday and 9 a.m. Sunday.
