About the Royals:
2015 has not gone as planned for the Royals. After finishing sixth in the conference last year, the Royals were priming to make a return to the MIAC playoffs. After opening up their season with an 8-2 victory over North Central University, the Royals have dropped eight of ten games, including all five of their MIAC matchups. They have yet to score a goal in conference play and have given up a conference-worst 2.4 goals per game in conference play.
Â
Storyline:
After dropping games to Augsburg and St. Thomas early in the conference season, the Blazers have the opportunity to flush out their finishing-woes against a struggling MIAC opponent. A sizable victory here could serve as a pivot point to vault in their season to vault them back to the top of the MIAC.
Â
Last Year:
In 2014 the Royals came to Saint Benedict with both teams in the midst of a MIAC playoff race. The Blazers notched a 2-0 victory over the Royals in that game. In the game's 34th minute, Sydney Bramer scored her first collegiate goal to give the Blazers a 1-0 lead. Just four minutes later, Hoffman sealed the victory with a goal off a pass from Kelsey Tatarek. Both teams went on to make the MIAC playoffs.
