About the Oles: St. Olaf was picked to finish third in the conference by the preseason coaches' poll, even receiving one vote for first place. It has since disappointed however, losing all four of its non-conference matches before rebounding Tuesday with a win over conference rival Bethel. The Oles are led by junior forward Kajsa Bradley, who was named to the third-team All-North Region in 2013.
Â
Déjà Vu: In 2013 the Blazers traveled to Northfield to protect a five-game win streak in early September after notching a win in their MIAC opener against Hamline. Sound familiar? The only difference this year is that the Blazers are riding a six-game win streak instead of five. In the 2013 game the Blazers outshot the Oles 16-9 and won the game 1-0.
Â
The Storyline: Which highly ranked MIAC team will emerge as the conference frontrunner early in the year? Five teams received first-place votes in the preseason coaches' poll. All five of those teams won their first MIAC matchup and are currently all tied for first-place. Any team will likely need to string together a streak of wins to gain sole possession of first place.

Last Time Out:
On Tuesday the Blazers traveled to Saint Paul to play in their MIAC opener against Hamline. Both teams were able to generate offensive opportunities, but neither was able to score until the 84th minute when Megan Lenz scored her first goal of the season off an assist from Brooke DeMets to put the Blazers up 1-0. Sophomore keeper Heather Kaluzniak had four saves and led the Blazers to their fifth clean sheet in seven games.
