Concordia Dual ResultsMOORHEAD, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict swimming and diving team wrapped up a two-night road trip to northern Minnesota with a victory over MIAC rival Concordia College Saturday afternoon.
After falling to NCAA Division II MSU-Moorhead Friday, the Blazers came back to defeat Concordia 205-73. Saint Benedict recorded 13 first-place finishes in the dual.
Laura Peterson,
Kenzie Young and
Grace Hesse all finished the day with two wins.
Hesse, a first year, won both the 50 and 100 breaststroke races. She took first in the 50 in 34.75 seconds and she won the 100 in 1:16.49. Young, another first year, won the 200 free in 2:05.92 and the 500 free in 5:32.55. Peterson came away with wins in the 100 butterfly (1:03.51) and 50 butterfly (28.70).
Other winners for the Blazers included
Hannah Manley, who won the 1,000 freestyle in 12:12.57.
Steph Bierman won the 50 free in 26.05 seconds, and
Jenna Humbert won the 100 backstroke race in 1:05.82. Diver
Megan Lawson came up 4.2 points away from her best-ever diving score as she won the one-meter diving competition with a 230.6.
Kristina Rudin was the Blazers' final individual champion as she won the 200 individual medley in 2:19.72.
A pair of CSB relays also took first Saturday afternoon. The 200 medley relay of
Emma Ridgeway, Hesse, Peterson and Rudin finished first in 1:59.26, and the 200 freestyle relay squad of
Jenna Humbert,
Lauren Noel,
Jessica Thurin and Bierman won in 1:46.71.
The Blazers return to action Friday, Nov. 21, when they host St. Kate's in a MIAC dual at 6 p.m. at the Warner Palestra Pool on the Saint John's campus. Friday is one of two home meets for Saint Benedict, which hosts Carleton on Jan. 24.
