Biography
2014-15: Named the team's MVP at the end of the season ... qualified for the MIAC Championships in the 100 and 200 butterfly ... finished seventh in the 200 and eighth in the 100 ... swam career-bests in both events ... swam the second-best 100 fly in school history (59.22) and the second-best 200 fly in CSB history (2:11.99) ... won three events, including the 100 and 200 fly at the St. Kate's Invite on Jan. 31 ... took 19th in the 200 fly at the Jean Freeman Invite ... was part of the fifth-best 400 medley relay (4:04.86), fifth-best 400 freestyle relay (3:36.73), sixth-best 200 freestyle relay (1:38.68) and ninth-best 200 medley relay (1:52.70) in school history.2013-14: Qualified for the conference championships in the 100 and 200 fly and 200 IM ... just missed All-MIAC honors and took fourth in the 100 fly and sixth in the 200 fly ... also took 26th in the 200 IM ... swam a career-best 2:19.47 in the 200 IM ... also recorded a career-best in the 500 free as a junior (5:44.96) ... won three events in 2013-14 ... was part of the school record setting 200 medley relay team (1:48.11) ... also part of the 400 medley relay squad that swam the second-best time in CSB history (3:59.30).2012-13: Qualified for the MIAC Championships in the 100 and 200 butterfly and 50 freestyle ... took seventh in the 200 fly, ninth in the 100 fly and 23rd in the 50 free ... swam a career-best 25.62 in the 50 free ... also recorded a career-best in the 200 free (2:04.81) as a sophomore ... finished 12th in the 200 fly at the Jean Freeman Invite ... won three events ... part of the 200 freestyle relay team that swam the fifth-best time in CSB history (1:38.60).2011-12: First season ... competed in eight meets ... swam a career-best in the 100 freestyle at the St. Kate's Invite on Jan. 28 (57.56) ... took third in two events in the first collegiate meet of her career at the MSU-Moodhead dual on Oct. 29 ... recorded 12 top-10 finishes.High School: A 2011 graduate of Wayzata High School, Peterson was coached by Elizabeth Hansen. She participated in swimming and diving (four years) during her athletic career at Wayzata. She was a state champion in the 200 free relay and named All-American. Peterson was also All-Conference and a captain for her swimming and diving team.
Personal: Peterson is the daughter of Lisa and Richard Peterson of Plymouth, Minn. She enjoys being outdoors and spending time with family and friends. She is majoring in nursing.
