Despite scoring just four minutes into the game, the College of Saint Benedict (2-6-3, 1-2-3 MIAC) fell in a high scoring match with the College of Saint Scholastica 5-2 Tuesday night.

Kaley Flynn (West St. Paul, MN, Henry Sibley High School). The Saints roared back however scoring three unanswered goals to go ahead 3-1 before senior center
Gretchen Leyendecker (Rochester, MN, Lourdes) scored on a power play 19:11 in the second period. The goal by Leyendecker was the closest Saint Benedict came as the Saints were able to score two more goals to secure the victory.
Senior goalie
Abbie Helminen (Brighton, MI, Brighton (Belle Tire)) recorded 38 saves while starting in net for the Blazers. The Saints attempted a program record 43 shots on net.
The Blazers now shift their focus to an upcoming two-game home series with Concordia College this Friday and Saturday. Saturday's game will be the first women's ice hockey game in Division III history to be held outside as the two teams will be playing at Bernick's Outdoor Rink in Sartell, MN. The puck drops for the two games at 7:30 pm and 2 pm respectively. Weather forecasts for Saturday's outdoor game call for a high of 14 degrees mixed with a chance for a few snow showers.
