2010-11: Appeared in 14 games for Saint Benedict...started 13 games...recorded a 3.72 GAA and .885 save percentage...voted MVP...made 347 saves...holds Blazer record for best career save percentage with .907...competitive and quick with the ability to takeover and win games

2009-10: Appeared in eight games for the Blazers, while starting seven...recorded a 2.80 GAA and .915 save percentage...made 204 saves.

2008-09: Started 15 games for the Blazers...recorded a 2.11 GAA and .923 save percentage en route to stopping 417 shots on net...finished with one shutout...Named MIAC and CSB Athlete of the Week 11/25 for her brilliant series against Bethel holding the conference's top two scorers to one point while stopping 64 shots.

2007-08: Recorded a solid first season with the Blazers playing in 12 games...tallied one shutout...finished with a .906 save percentage and 3.37 GAA.

High School: A 2007 graduate of Brighton High School … participated in ice hockey (four years) during her athletic career at Brighton High School … member of the Brighton High School ice hockey team that were State Champions her senior year.

Personal: Daughter of Eva and Karl Helminen of Brighton, MI...has 7 brothers and sisters...enjoys the slip and slide, nerf wars, picking on Gretchen, rockband, coloring, folding laundry, and sports...part of Student Abassadors and SAAC here on campus...a sports medicine assistant...majoring in Management with a minor in Asian Studies.

Proudest moment in her ice hockey career:
“Winning the Michigan State hockey championship my senior year and making it to the semi-finals at Nationals.”

What do you like about being a collegiate student-athlete? 
“Being able to continue to compete at a high level in sports while also being able to continue in my education.”
