Ice Hockey Ties 3-3, Gains Crucial Conference Point

BOX SCORE

Looking to secure their first win of the season, The College of Saint Benedict (0-4-3, 0-2-3 MIAC) seemed determined nor to let a little snow nor late referees get in the way as they took on Augsburg College tonight at the Municipal Athletic Complex. Boasting a 3-1 advantage heading into the start of the third period, The Blazers weren't able to quite put away the scrappy Auggies who went on to score the final two goals of the game in finishing in a 3-3 tie in overtime.

Getting the start for Saint Benedict, senior goalie Abbie Helminen (Brighton, MI, Brighton (Belle Tire)) made 20 total saves while contributing her first collegiate assist as a Blazer when her pass eventually found junior forward Kelly Fladebo (Mora, MN, Cambridge-Isanti Mora)

Junior forward Kerri Graske (Stillwater, MN, Stillwater Area) scored first for Saint Benedict equalizing the score at 1-1 late in the first period when her shot found the back of the net. Also scoring for the Blazers was sophomore forward Ashley Olson (Fairmont, MN, Fairmont High School).

The Blazers travel to Augsburg tomorrow night to take on the Auggies at 7:00 pm. The game will be broadcast live on the Augsburg website.
