The College of Saint Benedict volleyball team (14-3 overall, 1-0 MIAC) won the Simpson Tournament with an outstanding two day record of 4-0. St. Thomas University also claimed a 4-0 record, but the Blazers had more sets won. Junior starters

Emma Jaynes were named to the all-tournament team.
In the final match of the tournament, Saint Benedict faced host Simpson, and made no delay of claiming the tournament title, taking the set 25-20, 25-19 and 26-24. CSB was led by first-year player
Chelsie Sobieck, who led the team in kills with 11, Hanson, who recorded 28 assists and 12 digs, and junior libero
Andrea Millerbernd, leading the team in digs with 14.
Principia looked to knock off the Blazers in the first match of the day, but CSB, with Jaynes' 11 kills paving the way, did not falter and won in dominating display 25-16, 25-20, and 25-12. Hanson collected 32 assists, sophomore player
Amber Wortz claimed the most digs for CSB with 13 digs, and Sobieck had four services aces in the effort.
Saint Benedict faces St. Catherine in the second match of conference play for at Claire Lynch Hall, on 9/24 at 7 p.m.
