All tied at five in the first set, the Bennies started a run thanks to a service error to break the stalemate. Following an attack error, CSB made it a three-point gap thanks to a Schuler ace that clipped the line. After an Augsburg sideout, Saint Ben's extended its lead thanks to a service error followed by a Stadum kill, as she smashed a shot off an Auggie for the kill to spark a timeout, 10-6.

Ahead by three halfway through the set, CSB used a 6-1 to take full control of the set. Torve connected with Stadum to start the run, followed by a big block from Dunham and Wollum. Wollum followed an Augsburg miscue with a kill, as she roped down a dish from Siegle to make it 18-11.
