ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – Grace Todora had a productive weekend.
Todora, a senior on the College of Saint Benedict golf team, played three rounds of golf in two different tournaments and came away with one win and one top-five finish in the Blazers’ second weekend of action for 2014-15.
For her big weekend, Todora has been named the Blazer Athlete of the Week for Sept. 8-14.
Todora, a Woodbury, Minn., native, started the weekend with a fifth-place finish Friday at the Cobber Open. She shot a 78 after carding a 42 on the front nine and a 36 on the back, and was the top Division III finisher at the 10-team meet. The only golfers that recorded a better finish were from North Dakota State University and the University of North Dakota – both NCAA DI programs.
Todora’s performance helped the Blazers to a third-place finish at the open. CSB finished behind only NDSU and UND.
To cap off the weekend, Todora won individual medalist honors at the Concordia Invite Sept. 6-7. Both the Concordia Invite and Cobber Open were at Wildflower Golf Course in Detroit Lakes, Minn. She was tied for eighth after shooting an 80 on the first day, but came back and shot a 76 in Sunday’s second round to win by two strokes. She finished the tournament with a 156.
Todora’s individual win helped St. Ben’s sweep the team and individual titles at the Concordia Invite. The Blazers shot a 647 to win the 11-team tournament, which included NCAA Division II and III competition.
Todora and the Blazers return to action Sept. 13-14 at the DIII Midwest Classic in Lake City, Minn.
