About CSB Rugby

About the team:

The College of St. Benedict's Rugby Club was established in 1978 and has since developed into a DII Club sport. In Fall 2009, the we won the MN DIII State Championship, which moved us up to DII status. At the DII level, we compete against multiple clubs including: Gustavus, SCSU, NDSU, and UMD.In Spring 2011, we placed 2nd at the March Madness Tournament in Wayne, NE. Other tournaments we partake in include the All-Saints Tournament and All-MN Tournament. In Fall 2011, we place 2nd in the MN DII State Championship and moved on to compete in the Midwest Sweet Sixteen in Champaign, IL.

Mission:

The CSB Rugby Club is built on the foundation to learn, improve, and play the sport of rugby. Our goals include quality physical activity and the development of life-long friendships.

Purpose:

To provide the women at the College of Saint Benedict the opportunity to empower themselves through athletics, discover newfound skills, and develop friendships.
